Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This is the problem, I don't think we would have.

For statement signings you have a plan going into a window and you go get them. We should have had this lined up at the same time as Barry and once the U21's tournament finished we go get him!

If he is not interested we move on asap.

Again this is all depending on the sources and rumours etc as we will all never know.

But if this is true, then waiting on our top tier targets likes of McAtee or Luiz and then for one reason or another they fall through then typical Everton and it's back to square 1.

We clearly have had no plan or structure to get these much needed 5-8 players in.
But would a £25m (at the time) Man City castoff have been a statement signing? This thread is littered with people saying he isn't that good, etc.

This is just another, and I am sure it won't be the last this Summer, "damned if we do, damned if we don't" signing. Personally, I think IF this particular rumour of an arbitrary hike in price is true, we should defo move onto the next one as you say.

I don't think much will be clear, as ever, until the dust is settled on the window. Defo hard to avoid the feeling that our recently-assembled recruitment team isn't as well prepared as we desperately needed them to be, given what is riding on this window, but up to now it feels like a pretty standard window to me. Big Clubs eat first, and now the rest of us commence the scrap for their crumbs.

Hahah why would you bother listening to it/finding out the title if you think it's nonsense?
its a brilliant podcast, all about domino's and the different records people have set from various domino's

Blue Peter had a great one in the 80's where they tried to set a world record, failed after about 15 seconds unfortunately

All this reaction to a situation you know ZERO about. Anything could be going on behind the scenes and yet you are posting some mad over-reactions
As mentioned in the other post, I am going off only rumours. You are right, I know nothing about.

But Everton have done nothing in the last 3 weeks or longer since the transfer window has opened to make me think anything has changed. I hope it had.

So I also question where everyone's optimism is that we are going to land big signings (and recently this was supposed to be before the US tour), and with also going off all the same information I have.

There is no shred of evidence so suggest anything 'big' is going to happen.

All together I am just very disappointed in the lack of activity so far and I am not going to bury my head in the sand to think all is going to be ok and come 1st September we will look back at this as a success.

We have been hear many many times before.

I am not sure and not really seen him in many games and only the recent tournament, where tbf he didn't exactly set it on fire.

I just keep hearing from posters is that we wait and are to be patient getting these 'big signings / A-list / whichever'.

If they are a top target you go out and get them. If not or they are not interested, or too much, then move on.

Again if the story is true, then let's hope they move on.

Fair enough if you want to count Harry Tyrer as a senior squad option in order to get the numbers up and feed your delusions I suppose.
I don’t care either way, but he is 23. Older than other members who are integral to our first team such as branthwaite.

I imagine he is very much our 3rd choice keeper now and considered part of the squad as I think it’s clear we are trying to move away from the 39 year old keeper signings.

In all but 1 of the last 10 windows we have made multiple signings, that was before the new era. It is clear we will make multiple signings this window - quality additions. Making up stories like " we will probably bring back Doucs, young and Harrison" is just weird. You manage to twist every facet of this window in to doom.
