That's your problem there though, he shouldn't be on the left imo, he should be down the middle behind the striker, running at the CB then we have 2 threats in the same area. He just doesn't create enough to be starting out wide for me. I think we need to strengthen both wide positions and I want players who can mix it up a bit. Just pinging crosses into a target man is too easy to play against and it won't be long before we get found out.
I agree mate. I don’t think McNeill should a be starter, he’s a player we should look to build upon.
Centrally I think he was great for- generously a handful of games last season, before teams cottoned on. Out wide I don’t think he has the athleticism to start every game or finish it.
I actually thought he was great coming on for the last 20 mins of games at the back end of the season last year, he really impacted games, fresh legs with good technique running at tired ones. Thats his role for me, impact sub or utility in advanced positions, cover on the left for Illy, 10 at pinch can do a job out right or covering fir full backs - advanced impact sub or utility.
I guess my point though is I don’t think Fellows offers more than Dwight, in terms of what he brings to the squad. I know he’s a right sided player.
For the right side it should be Kubo or Doak, Fellows comes in as cover really - but does he offer something Dwight doesn’t for 12 mill - not in my opinion.
I think we’d do a cut price deal for Harrison before Fellows as Moyes would want him in that hybrid support full back role and I’d suggest we could do a cut price deal with Leeds, rather then go North of 10 mill on Fellows - that would be my thinking,
