Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Maybe this is cope but I think we are pursuing very ambitious difficult deals that will genuinely significantly improve the team which is partly why we haven't made many signings yet.

If we had taken Forest's approach from a few years ago we could have probably signed 6 players by now but I would be far less confident those players would significantly improve our overall quality (and instead be comparable or worse to what we have).

Is it risky? Yes, going for players like Delap or McAtee who have other offers carries risk you'll miss out, but it's worth it when you secure a top player and significantly improve the team.
This is some serious cope and I hope you are right, I suspect its more we are trying to do a LOT with a "limited" budget and trying our best to stretch the money. Every week saves us a small fortune on wages also.

He looks good just don’t think he will have the stature to compete in the premier league….

And let’s be honest there isn’t much contest for best RW for a decade…. Harrison, Walcott… this it?

Defo need a RW, and he looks technically gifted. I just don’t think he would cut it physically.
Silva came from Spain, small stature…players get so much protection now. If he’s quick he’ll be fine

I'm sure there's some truth to that, and I think if we wanted to do we could probably have Sean Longstaff, Soucek, Coufal and Callum Wilson all in the door by now.

My hope is that over the next few weeks we secure our top starting targets (starting winger, two midfielders), then we pick off squad signings for low fees or through loans with maybe a high profile hail Mary loan on deadline day for someone unexpected and exciting like Grealish or something.

Well let’s see…. Agree with Marius and someone else surely he will be better than our current solution so in theory improve the squad and be better than any RW we have had in the last 10 years.

Just think he will spend so much time
On his backside and just a Japanese Bernard.

Also to add, he will get nowhere near as much protection as someone like Silva did.

Roma are the golden child we are just the annoying step kid that they never wanted we’ll get what where given
We’re a very expensive step-kid then.

Also, you do realise that they’ll be making all sorts of money from Everton just by the sheer fact we have our own, brand new stadium and Roma have to share a delapidated one with Lazio? We’ll be their number one project within 2 years.

Why would I say that? Of course someone like Branthwaite is worth the risk, but we are not talking about players who might come good several years down the line. Unless of course you think our right wing situation is so good we don't actually need anyone there for this season.

We signed Branthwaite in 2020 and he's really only been first team regular for the past two season.
Tbf there is a few RW in league one that would improve us now potentially

I’ll Believe that when the fella is arsed enough to even show up to a game
