Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Ambitious, not realistic. We've come close once. Playing field was more level then. We need to out do the mighty Brighton and Brentford in league places before we hit the Europa Conference place. KWP gets us to that zenith. What takes us higher comes after. In my opinion.
Cool were probably close in our shared opinion of the short term goals then. But if TFG haven't got CL, winning stuff etc on their ultimate goals then they should sling their hook whether we achieve it or not is should be the aim.

What's the saying 'shoot for the moon....' etc etc

Funny how?

Good morning transfer enthusiasts and budding scouts, and thank you for your service in personally finding players to fix Everton.

It’s fine to be frustrated so I encourage you to let strong feelings be expressed as today marks one month until Everton play competitive football again and it’s a DISGRACE how they’re not fixed already. We’re meant to be rich and it’s not as if we’ve been before and squandered such an opportunity by spending big money trying to fix Everton in one window.

Genuinely not fussed about not getting KWP. Would love to see Moyes make a player out of Patterson and fill that role of covering both full backs. A back four of O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite and Mykolenko is solid. Yes, in an ideal world we would have full backs high up the pitch and we do need some cover I know, but maybe we’ll end up with forwards who are told to focus on staying there rather than doing as much of the defensive work. I know football today relies a lot on everyone doing everything but I’m not worried about it at the moment. For me, creativity, pace and goals up top would benefit more from an extra £90k per week than full back.

I'm not for a minute saying KWP warrants it. However, we will all have to accept, if we want to get to where we want to be i.e. pushing CL on a fairly regular basis £90k a week is nothing. It's squad player chicken feed.

£40k a week squad player money will get us to where we were have been lower half, skirting relegation.

I'd say paying 90k + for journeymen and dross is what got us where we have been.

Should definitely have signed Walker-Peters. Not gonna get better for £10m at right back.

I disagree, Just because a player is free doesn’t necessarily make them the right player or the cheaper option. Signing on fee, wages and agents fees likely to be way higher, so over the period of the contract may not be. It also then causes an issue with the wages others then feel that they should have in comparison. All the mistakes of the past.

Also, if he is a player we would not be that interested in for a fee why pursue them for free. I think the Travers transfer shows that Moyes is clear about what/who he wants, regardless of whether that requires a transfer fee upfront or not.

You do realise we have a wage budget? Start giving the likes of KWP £90k a week and that becomes the norm for all of our squad players, never mind our best players. Can’t be done

Same and if honest i was a person who was pushing to get him just far to much money. Think is a solid player nothing special and i would have still wanted us to get out next summer and get a better rb. And as you said cant really have a 90k week rb sitting on the bench is a waste of money. Think for now lb cm rm all should be ahead of getting a rb in unless a good deal i still think could get one late in the window
