Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Checking in again, half way through July with a little over 3 weeks to the start of the season.

Are there any legit links at the moment aside from Luiz? Are these in fact legit or realistic?

Still nothing for the complete new right side that we so desperately need.
If you’re looking for legit links here you’ve come to the wrong place
Take Travers for example
Obviously the club has worked at it for weeks and no one had a clue
Other transfers will be the same

So, please can you let me know just how many loans we can have? I just can’t find the answer with an easy google search. 😁

Might as well get the question out there, and no, I don’t really need the answer.

4 domestic loans in one season, but no more than 2 at any one time.

8 loans in total are allowed

I think this is an issue with Moyes though. He is a good coach and a good manager, but he has a conservative streak running through him a mile wide. He has always had players in the team who got in the side more for their attitude, than their ability - Hibbert and Neville were two examples.

It's one of the things that will have prevented him getting a decent crack at a big club. Top managers would not play players who are completely bereft of ability on attitude alone. I know you can swing it back round and point out the level of club we are and have been for some time, so invariably won't have the most talented players. But you don’t break that cycle by continuing to employ terrible footballers, particularly when we have an unprecedented chance for a reset.

And we all know Moyes will play these lads a lot. Look at how often he selected Doucoure at the end of the season when, one winning goal (but not performance) aside, he absolutely stunk the gaff out. And Moyes offered him a new deal. Had we have kept him, he would have been playing most weeks, we know that.

Moyes is a good manager, but sometimes he does need saving from himself a little. I just hope this transfer committee is strong enough to minimise the chance of that.
If we look back over some of the nonsense signing over the last few years Moyes conservative streak appeals to me

yea, at Sheffield he simply didn't have quality players around him like at man city so this begs the question of whether he can carry a team.

after Cole Palmer, teams would also be overpaying in the hope of getting the next Palmer.

dun get me wrong, he would be a great addition at the right price tho.
Yeah, not that I know anything about scouting, but I feel like if he was just on that Sheffield team and not City but otherwise the exact same player, he'd be being talked about as a 10m project player with potential. Not 30m starter material

I think someone should make a GOT transfer thread bingo card with the continuous themes and hilarious running jokes that seem to surface every/recent transfer windows- Jack Harrison jokes or a player who is loathed is repeatedly brought up even though he's not linked currently, a grown adult throwing a conniption, dele loan jokes , how many loans are there and so on it's all there.
