Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

At the start of the window we had money. Our competitors did not.

Now, with other clubs selling players, our competitors also have money to spend.

Our inactivity has now increased our competition.

Why did we not press home our advantage and sign players?
Do you think it's like walking in ASDA and saying, oh that looks nice and throwing a player in the trolley.
Dry your bed sheets and wait to see what happens, there's time yet .

Pretty much yeah. You pick up the phone, you call the club, you say how much for Douglas?. They say 25m, we say would you take 20m, they say yes/no. It’s only ever us who make a bloody meal out of every single transfer.

Wtf are you prattling on about...
I think he is making the point that in order for a deal to happen there has to be a willing buyer, seller and player. I.e 66.7% of the each transfer process is completely beyond our control. Especially considering our limited budget, the number of players we need and the fact that we aren’t necessarily the most attractive club to join for the players we are targeting. But you are blaming the club for some perceived failure despite the above and having no actual knowledge or experience of how transfers work. Sometimes objectives can’t be achieved without anyone being at fault. The idea that we had some sort of advantage early in the window is laughable.

Yes, it's rematch we have been waiting for.

In the summer of 2016 we had the war between the excuse makers and the bed wetters.

The excuse makers went through all the excuses of the Euro's , Nice Terrorist attack , the transfer of Pogba and people being on holiday till they got over ran by the bed wetters in the end.

9 years on the rematch is on.

FIGHT PEOPLE.

The crowning moment for the bedwetters was Enner Valencia on loan on deadline day. My sheets were absolutely sodden that summer, I can’t lie. A bellweather for the Moshiri years to come.

Did we have money? It’s been talked about for ages that we would still need to get to 1st July.

We maybe had a little bit of money (ie getting Alcaraz over the line), but I doubt we had a huge amount more than that.

That might be how we work but with the majority of clubs its seems to start differently. You pick up the phone, you call the player`s agent, you tell him how much money he can make if his player moves to your club. Then you sit back and watch the player and his team force the move through and you just work out a fee and payment structure with the other club.

That summer we had the Esk talking about winning the Champions League under Moshiri and Damo saying he was a force multiplier.
