Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Nonsense...we wouldn't be willing to pay the release clause without knowing first if the player was keen or not. Agents keep using Everton and I guess with TFG, it seems that's easy...except so far roma is spending more than us even they are under worst financial restrictions than us...priorities i guess.

Yes it’s rubbish mate, we’ve been purposefully being negotiating below release clauses as a tactic.

We saved £7 up front mill from Villarreal opening demand for Barry, to what we agreed to pay.

We could have closed the deal in a week instead it took 3, this is now our way, tough negotiators.

Good signing for Roma. Key point for me there is 'done on Roma's conditions.

If our own commitee is operating on similar strategies it would explain a fair few things.

Possibly that should mean we do get players through the door who want to play for the club and not just the ££s..

As above mate, one of the objectives of our business this window is to be tough negotiators. Every scrap of value we are going after.

A needs must approach for sure this time around.

If we are looking at the RW being our top spending position, negotiating strongly there but still getting one of our top 3 picks, would you hope light the way for the other signings to follow.

If we don't get that position right deal wise, it will be so much harder to get the rest of the positions through the door on our own terms I think too.

LOL.

We didn't save anything. We offered a lot more than any other club would and Villareal didn't need to sell, but expected Barry's value to have peaked this summer.

If Villareal expected clubs to come in for Barry and pay the release clause next summer, they would have kept him. If they thought he will be a lot more worth in the future, they would have signed him up with a new contract and played him in Champions League next season.

Even those who have watched him a lot and rate him as a player, think Everton have paid silly money for him.

That doesn't mean he won't be good, but it is a massive gamble. With potential to become Everton's worst signing ever.

Stop the talk of tough negotiators. Barry was at U21 Euros. Followed by his vacation. Everton, Villareal and Barry had all the time in the world. And there ware no other clubs willing to pay close to what Everton ended up doing.

Jude Bellingham has a £870 million release clause. We should offer Real Madrid £800 million for him. Great possibility to save £70 million through tough negotiations.

What a load of nonsense

So did we...unless of course you are counting alcaraz. Thing is they are very close to a couple of signings, good ones too, and those will be wrapped up very soon, might even be before we confirm the signing of the Irish gk

We’ve signed 2 players for actual money, 3 as of tomorrow, they’ve signed none, quit your whinging about TFG.

Let's continue to be tough negotiators, but then let's not complain if our squad is rubbish come the start of the season. Gana is a good example...lasted weeks, he wanted 2 years, and he got 2 years

2 players? Other than alcaraz I must have missed something. For alcaraz they had no choice because of the deadline in his purchase option. Roma might unveil a new player before our new goalkeeper.

Alcaraz
Barry
Travers

All for money.

Roma? Zero players.

You say Roma are Friedkin’s priority based on absolutely nothing at all. You even had to use the word ‘might’ in regards to their transfer dealings.

Is one with an option is not a straight two year deal, agree if we finish the window and positons aint done then 100% complain. Also sure moyes would call them out if not backed
