Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think it's going to be a hard summer for different reasons. We will most likely always be buying our second choice as that first choice is just a wee bit above where we are at currently. Hopefully a strong season will address that so next summer we will be able to push more.

It is hard but they would have known what faces them.

It's going to be very difficult for a club like ours to nab our first target, in each and every position, even if we can afford them.

As I see it, the job at hand is to ensure that the players eventually signed are good enough, or better than what we have, and drive progress that way.

With a threadbare squad, improvement is more than possible, it's an imperative. They operate in a global market.

I'd be very disappointed if Moyes or Kinnear were trotting out well-worn excuses in September. We've heard them all. I don't expect a perfect 10/10 window but I do expect it will be more than enough to meet most of our needs.

I agree with your post. I don't want it to sound like I'm disappointed with Barry or Travers so far as I'm not...I think they'll be good players, but we tried to get Delap first and we also tried to sign Tete. Both first choice options and both a miss. Just think we will have to be a bit more patient.

I don’t think delap was our first choice necessarily but he was a name on a list. I think he was in that £30m budget for a striker because of his release clause that had to be triggered quite early on.

I don’t think we were ever really expecting him to come here knowing who he was being linked with but just threw our names in the hat as he meets the requirements of age and experience and cost etc

I also think Tete was just a “let’s have a go” knowing his contract was up. If it came off, great, but with his injury record, I’m not sure it’s such a huge loss anyway.

It must be said, both, for different reasons, never likely.

Why are we perusing a player(Luiz) who does not want to come to usI. I hope it’s not so the club can say we tried to sign player x, y, Z, when in reality they were never coming to Everton!
4D chess mate, make our competitors waste their dollar on our 2nd, 3rd , 4th targets, before we make a move for the real #1.

If we sign Tchatchoua and El Aynaoui I'm going to keep a tally of all the different spellings I see over their first season here. And yes I copied and pasted both of their names there
