Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Someone will stump up the cash for Luiz, he is a very decent player. Very much doubt he will be coming to Everton if we are trying the old loan with an option stuff.
Everton: We want Luiz
Juventus: €40m

Everton: We offer you a loan with an obligation to buy for €20m

How’s the catastrophising going pal?

Lads this is def con 1 and we need you all to step up and show your scouting skills by doing a list of the players Everton should sign within days please. The whole club and fanbase are counting on you.
I recommend General Zat be put on charge of the list compilers whist he himself signs 45 under 18 players

I am reliably informed by @MisterJ , that deals are not done like this anymore.
And selling teams only want a fraction of the price up front.

The one thing we all basically unanimously agreed on post-Moshiri was that we needed a change in approach and to be more patient and responsible with our money.

Obviously now when it's actually time to do that people are reverting to type, and we need to just SIGN PLAYERS NOW and FORGET NEGOTIATING JUST PAY THE MONEY EVERTON.

Mad that people can be burned so badly and learn no lesson whatsoever.

Roy Cleveland Sullivan (February 7, 1912 – September 28, 1983) was an American park ranger in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Between 1942 and 1977, Sullivan was claimed to have been struck by lightning on seven occasions, surviving all of them.

I have asked ChatGPT and these are their suggestions, whilst subtly mocking the knowledge of your average Evertonian. AI is particularly scathing of Traore

Everton Fan Fantasy Flops XI
Players the average Blue might want, but who'd probably be total flops:

  • Jesse Lingard – Free agent, “ex-England,” but hasn't played in ages.
  • Dele Alli – Been there, done that. It’s still sad.
  • Aaron Ramsey – Experience? Yes. Hamstrings? No.
  • Timo Werner – Fast but allergic to goals.
  • Mariano Díaz – Real Madrid tax, no output in years.
  • Adama Traoré – Built like a tank, finishes like a toddler.
  • Jaden Philogene – Championship flair, Prem despair.
  • Che Adams – “Proven,” but rarely scores.
  • Eden Hazard – Retired in spirit, if not officially.
  • Philippe Coutinho – Big name, tiny impact, high wages.

Lingard's grandfather/father figure Kenneth (long story that I won't break due to confidentiality reasons) is local to me and he very recently said that Jesse isn't happy in South Korea because he's missing his kid. Moreover, Jesse wants a move back to England once FC Seoul's season finishes around October.

Nailed on for a move in the December window imo. Moyes loves him.

Did I just beat ChatGPT?

Signed 3 players (once this gk is done) and gave new contracts to 4 first team/squad players before the middle of July. I hate this new Everton.
I think this is spot on. I think folks are downplaying the renegotiations. The squad of course needs improvement, but its spine is fairly assuring at this point and the most important names were retained which wasn't a given.

I personally am impressed with Moyes and Co thus far. They are assuring the squad with veterans in renegotiations and allocating transfer fees for upside prospects like Barry and Charly. Travers a fine backup GK. I for one was a bit worried to dissolve a DoF structure but Moyes to his credit has always bought well broadly. He's balancing present and future in the deals thus far.

If Im worried though its the links at RW. Attached names have been a bit scattershot for me. Luiz I don't love simply for what it will take to get him. Bakayoko would have been my number 1 but we fairly have not been in pole position to get that one done. Kubo is interesting but I would worry about the shift in league styles and how we would hold up physically. Omari I like the age profile but personally I think he's too expensive for what he's shown thus far. I hope there is a wider net on that position than whats been reported.
