Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You think a week is enough time to sort out our squad?

I agree. I don’t think any player we sign (maybe barring a RW) will start for us immediately. But Barry has been brought in to be the starting striker so will get it at some point.
As you said in another post both Barry and Beto cost similar amounts. Barry has been brought in to provide competition for Beto, not as definite 1st choice striker. Brought in to be the starting striker makes no sense to me, we need competition all over the place to keep players on their toes and to justify their selection. He will get an opportunity if he is ready for it and if Beto underperforms. As of now Beto has the start and it is up to him to keep it.

Show me one other club, apart from the [Poor language removed] and city, who have all their business done.
You were the one saying you would be concerned if the squad size wasn’t addressed before America.

I simply pointed out that that was a week off.

What are you coming at me for?

We'll have at least 19-20 players available for tomorrow night, I'm pretty sure. First game of pre season we always get a glut of the young lads involved.
A miss opportunity for crucial game time for any new signings. Going into pre season matches now with such as small squad is not good...coupled with potential injuries to perhaps key players (and yes this is Everton so we all know it will happen) means a weak side going into the pl season with very little to no options from the bench. We can't leave all the work for the last minute, more so this season when we have supposedly the means to compete for players.

Being reported that we have offered Juventus a loan with option to buy deal for Douglas Luis, with us paying 10m euros for the loan and 30m euros to make it permanent. This is because if Juve accept less than 40m euros for him it will be shown as a loss accounting wise

I mean, he only cost £1.8m more than Beto cost. So one of them is going to have to warm the bench. Unless Moyes decides to change it up and start them both.
If we had full faith in Beto i dont believe we would of forked out 30m on Barry, he has been bought because they see him as an improvement on Beto.

No chance we go 442 not as the norm anyway. Maybe in certain parts of a game if we need a goal.
