Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

….instead of what? We need another keeper, it’s a necessary acquisition and the better he is the stronger the squad.
People seem to think you just work through your transfers in order of how much you need them.

Doesn't work like that all the time. Some deals will take ages as there's a domino effect from other deals - like a buyers chain in a house purchase. Other deals are just more complicated anyway. Sometimes a player you need/want becomes available quite suddenly.

Loads of moving parts, especially in the PSR age of v carefully managed budgets.

Anyway, we needed at least one reserve goalie and we are getting him. Probably a higher standard one than we've had in a little while, so all fine.

Do we need 3 or 4 more before the season starts? Absolutely, but let's not panic that they haven't all been there for day one of pre-season

Its a very posh airport though.

Or was, not been there for years.
I visit two or three times a year. It's huge. Only Heathrow comes close in Europe as far as other airports I've visited. I know they say Amsterdam is on par, but I never felt like it was quite on the scale of Frankfurt. But anyway 🤷 Let's get back to moaning about only signing a sub keeper

I think Travers is a great signing and could be one of our most important ones (hopefully not). We have been very lucky with Pickford and his consistency fitness and performance wise but there are no guarantees that it will be the same case this season or in future seasons.
All you have to do is look across the park and see Kelleher played 10 league games last season and the same in 23/24 season. If needed I think Travers is capable of stepping in and is an upgrade on what we had last season.
