I'd happily welcome himShould have been given a pen
Very tricky player
yeah agreed mate. would be a very statement like signing though is ceiling seems quite high as well. turned brentford down for being a mid table team it’s whether he would get onboard with what he’s sold by moyes etcYeah, but from what I saw hes been most heavily linked elsewhere. Id prefer a good "Everton have lead in considerable musings about player X"
And they were both much younger. It’s another one of them romantic “if we can get him back to his best form” shouts that I really hope we leave behind us, mate. We have tried it with numerous players over the years - best and most recent example being Dele - and unless I’m forgetting someone I think the last time it worked was Arteta and Pienaar.
I anticipate we’ll be looking at potential rising stars (Charly and Barry), solid if uninspiring 6-7/10s (see our attempt to sign Tete, re-signing Keane, etc) to bulk out the squad and then 1-2 players in their pomp.
Still, not the most outlandish shout I’ve heard so no hate here.
Roman is one of us, I'm sure. He's a good lad.Putting two and two together![]()
Depends who else we're looking at, I suppose. I'm not totally against Douglas Luiz at that price, I'd be very much up for signing him at £100k a week, but it would have a knock on effect, you would have to think, on the rest of our business this summer. However, if it was Douglas Luiz at €25m and £140k a week or someone like Sean Longstaff at £15m and £80k a week then it's Douglas Luiz one hundred times out of a hundred. He's only 27 and, if he regains his Villa form, could be a key player for us for the next five years.
Ha ha, are you trying to wind up our resident grumpy orange?!I know like you it would seem a big deal to do but his age is an important factor, as you say. Up to 5 years with us and then back to Italy to Roma to see out his last few years at the top.
YawnCan't wait to sign Coufal on a free
He’s Nigel Farage? He’s seemingly right wing but unfortunately goes missing when questions are asked.
luiz and gana in the middle
ndyie one wing
insert name in the other
charlie of whoever is upfront
THE PREM IS OURS
Is he any good?
I've read he's still recovering from a bad injury.
So youre bombing 4 more out. Not sure the squad has enough resilience to cope with that. Definitely not Garner. Fringe players like Chermiti and Armstrong (though I'd argue keeping them round the first team might prove fruitful) could be loaned out by deadline day. Patterson im neither here nor there.I think that could be the end of Jimmy if we did get Luiz too. I like Garner but he would be suited to the likes of Forest where he did ok on loan or Bournemouth at this stage . If we went big (relatively for us) on CM and then RW say a Kubo then Fellows as cover later on. Sell Patto and Jimmy. Use our loan spots for the other positions and possibly 1/2 on a free (min of 4 loans in this window) Think that woukd be close to our budget with a nice few £££s coming in for those two. Jimmy the more valuable I'd say to make a profit on with a book value around 6M.
Think that would add up to 3 further signings for a transfer fee, 4 loans and 2 on a free (RB & 3rd striker) after Travers . Sell the 2 lads mentioned and send Chermiti and Armstrong on loan plus Tyrer sale/loan . Would give a squad of 23 or 25 if we can use all 6 loan spots with a very decent home grown quota.
Would that be good enough?
A good point, plus I don’t think they’d fallen as far (or had a high enough platform to fall from in the first place). And they were both much younger.
