I’d be quite happy with another McNeil-esque player for cover, honestly! I suppose it depends on what the plan is. If we’re gonna splurge on a wide forward then obvs swerve, but I’d like to think we’ll spend on a good CM and/or full-back, in which case a (relatively) cheap forward option would be good.
My personal hope is McNeill becomes an impact player mate, i though he was great when he came on last season as a sub, facing tired legs and caused real damage and influenced results.
I like McNeill - but if wee are to improve i think we need to build on top players like him, i want something a bit more dynamic like a Doak, Bakayoko type - while i haven't seen the Japanese lad - a lot seem to like his direct style.
There will be games for Dwight, were we will want to squeeze a flack or get crosses in or have someone to support a full back, even as a utility at 10 - that fine. I just want to have an option and build on that.
Stylistically i don't see Fellows as being hugely different or offering a different dimension to what Dwight does, thats not to say hes gash, i just dont see the point when we have Dwight and i don't see Fellows offering much more to give us a different skill set or dimension to the team.
