Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Its not what I was getting at. You're just a creature looking for a row. My point was valid about people liking different things which is ok, what's not ok is other muppets like you telling them what they should or shouldn't like.
You’ve created a straw man and you’re not expressing yourself clearly.

remember that one good season he had were we all thought he was going to be boss.

Then he started to believe his own hyoena nd got a injury doing something stupid in a friendly. Was never the same again.

That one stupid decision completely changed the course of his career, mental

Would liked to have seen him play regularly next to someone other than carthorse Keane. If he’d had a season next to Tarkowski playing a low block with Mykolenko on the other side I reckon we’d have seen a better player.

Instead it was playing in between Keane and Jonjoe Kenny, or Coleman, or even worse in a back 3 with Keane absolutely miles out of position most of the time.

He didn’t do much at West Brom after he left but he did show some good form for them at wing back on loan first time. And then under Silva for us at one point before the Firmino incident. and then at right back under Ancelotti, but the rest of the time his confidence and decision making got completely destroyed playing next to that elephant and he never recovered.

Or what we haven't got.

Its not really about what people do on here really.

Its about hard deadlines and how our new structure manages them and their impact.

For example our starting point is, we have in recent seasons had no money, couldn't bring in players any sooner as a result, which undermined the starts to seasons and early results and thus the season.

So if im managing this new process for the first time this summer - the above is my ground zero to improve on - we have resources - that opens up a bigger market and an ability to be able to close deals - therefore a direct objective - if the recruitment team does their job well and we get players in well- is the manager has to get good early results and a good start. Everyone i mention is accountable in that.

If im say Kinnear I'm setting three hard deadlines and reviews from here on in - 1. When we get on the plane to America, 2. The Roma game/start of the season and 3. The Transfer deadline. Recruitment objectives for all the management/recruitment team should be given and they are accountable for progress at each deadline. While the squad wont be closed of by the deadline and nor should it be - we should have most of the heavy lifting done by start of the season or we haven't improved on our starting point i mention above from recent seasons.

Having said all of the above I'm reasonably happy with start to the window, clarity around the contracts has been achieved, Charly has come in and Barry is a good investment. Im reasonably happy, that's a good start.

We need more of the same in each of the different phases of the window.

We need to judge this Everton and the ability of its management and recruitment team to a higher standard to the ones of the last five seasons and we need a better start to the season.

I very much like your clarity of thinking there mate and hope there is something similar going on behind the scenes.

I'm expecting the peak of activity to occur during the tour.

I'm a little concerned but I guess that's to be expected. There is a conflict between the amount of signings needed, the total (limited) budget, and the practicalities of how the window works with timing.

Great to get Barry signed, and time coming to do more and ramp it up.

I wouldn't sign him mate, i don't think he offers anything for us McNeill cant - without getting into the whole right/left foot debate thing again.
I’d be quite happy with another McNeil-esque player for cover, honestly! I suppose it depends on what the plan is. If we’re gonna splurge on a wide forward then obvs swerve, but I’d like to think we’ll spend on a good CM and/or full-back, in which case a (relatively) cheap forward option would be good.
