This, Mosie Kean as well - we’ve been brutal at nurturing and developing clear and obviously talented young players.

Another symptom of the shambles the club has been.

The very least you can say is we didn’t loose money, even if we last the part of their careers at this club.

I was merely reporting what the Turkish sporting press were saying.

I suspect whatever we offered, and whatever United might offer, was lower than what Fulham ended up giving him.

Regardless no one wanted him till the rumour started anyway.

….odd how we’ve never really brought a keeper through in my 60+ years watching Everton. Albert Dunlop, Andy Rankin and Geoff Barnett decent enough but none really staked their place, hardly anything since, maybe Jason Keaton et al.

Amazing really, but I don’t think we’re alone in that respect. Keepers tend to develop elsewhere before being bought by top flight clubs.

Sad too, in that had we bought Shilton when we had the opportunity, we would have won a lot of silverware with that team.
