Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

….i just don’t see him having Doucoure’s athleticism and energy. He does carry more goal threat but he’s also very ordinary in possession.

I wonder whether we might just play a different system with a more conventional no10 who can effectively transition. I do think Doucoure allowed Ndiaye to take up more central positions, be interesting what the plans are for next season.

He always used a hybrid player here - who was expected to come back to make a midfield 3, Cahill, Fellaini (some seasons) and The Duke last season - whether that was guarded by resources or not - it’s hard to know.

At Utd he used Mata a bit more as a playmaker even Janazai at times, while at WHU he had Pauqetta and Kudus at times, on occasion he would use Fellaini and Soucek in that Hybrid role depending on the game.

It’s hard to know was he constarinted by resources here or has he evolved to be less risk adverse.

If we did go with a more attacking playmaking number 10 - I’d worry about our existing 2 in midfield, it’s not strong or big enough in my opinion to act as a 2 instead of a 3 (when the hybrid drops back). We’d need another instead of Garner at least.

Can I have some rumours with some LEGS please, thread has gone a bit Gomes.
Seems like they are trying to keep their cards close to their chest. Don’t mind it as long as they start to get a move on. There’s no reason we shouldn’t have another 2 or 3 new additions on that plane to the US as they’ve had months of planning ready for this summer
