Confirmation emails for bought tickets now come with this:
"Please note - PDF e-tickets are no longer issued when purchasing matchday tickets. All tickets purchased online will now be issued as digital tickets."
AFAIK there is no more e-tickets and no more chance to get a hard copy to bring to a gate. You either have a phone with the Everton app on and your ticket in or you dont get in the ground.
I'm just saying that if you're a member and you want to order a ticket for friend/family via your phone and email it looks complicated - unless you can load up two tickets on a single phone and scan it at the gate to get in together.
I bought a ticket for last year's friendly and it said the same thing, but underneath it had buttons embedded within the email "Add to Apple Wallet" and "Add to Google Wallet"
There were also links to how to use apple wallet and google wallet and how to add the tickets to the official club mobile app.
If, as a member, you received that email and forwarded it on to the person the ticket is for, they would be able to download the ticket to their apple/google wallet.
I had the official app and the membership, but I downloaded it to the apple wallet anyway, because I know it doesn't rely on having a mobile signal or wifi when you are using it, whereas think the app does and I didnt want to be unable to get in the ground because of no signal
So I would say that if a person doesnt have any of those 3 things they will have to get one of them to use the digital ticket. I feel bad for older people and technophobes because increasingly, the world is not designed for them.

The stewards and other people who work for the club on match days are about to find out that the pain of older blues and / or technophobe blues will be their pain also.
There'll be some unhappy people and some bumpy rides along the way to getting these match day tickets ironed out. Dispensing with cardless/paperless tickets ensures it.

True. I'd never used a Google Wallet before we came over for last season's game. (Fun and games at the turnstile trying to scan the second ticket in it.) And I haven't since.
