Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Well if pickford is missing for league games we're in trouble no matter what.
Having tryer or the younger prospects involved in preseason won't change anything.
Both Pickford and Big Nev were playing in the top flight for us at a similar age to Tyrer. Not sure we should be overly concerned if he is our back up initially. He's had three years on loan as a first choice keeper so clearly is doing something right in his development each season.

I am looking forward to at least double figures of 1-0 to Everton next season. Need Harrison for that
I'm not fully against it for a low fee as cover in certain games, he could well be required.

We could do with signing a few for the first XI first, and then adding harrison later to calm everyone down ha

It's nothing to do with age, it's just whether he's good enough. I haven't seen enough of him over the last 12 months or so to know but ordinarily you wouldn't be too keen on a keeper who was dropped from his midtable league one team at one point last season having to play a load of PL games.

Sometimes we like to kid ourselves, be real he signed for the same reason most players do, massive increase in wages with possibly a release clause. It was either that or stay on same wages for next three years.
Absolutely zero kidding. It's not lost on me every Premier League player is a very rich young man already that's a given. There are many other reasons both personal and financial a player may either stay and move on too. Some may still play for the shirt but t's still £££s first. He's stayed though when others have jumped ship oreviously, and yes each diff circumstances all the same such as Rooney, Stones, Lescott etc.

Brighton striker Evan Ferguson is a target for Roma this summer, according to Sky in Italy.

The Republic of Ireland international, who spent the second half of last season at West Ham, figures highly on their list of options up front.

They are weighing up a potential move for the 20-year-old, who was offered to them on loan.

Perhaps the plan is taking a risk on someone exciting like Kubo or Hutchinson plus playing it safe with Harrison as relatively cheap cover for multiple positions? That would be quite a Moyes way of doing things as his track record with us was a mix of clever, risky signings and experienced hole pluggers. For every Fellaini, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill there was a Neville, Carsley, Kilbane.

I understand that perspective but he's a Moyes type player and although he was frustrating especially on set pieces he seemed to improve when Moyes took over like you, id rather someone else but unfortunately that's not under our control I'm not going to stress about every detail and just focus on the major signings
I dont think he is a Moyes type player (he says hopefully). He specifically called him out for his lack of goal/assist contributions and we have no reason to believe that will change any time soon. Also wrong age profile. Maybe as a squad filler loan or very cheap close to deadline, but its a big NO from me.

Yeah they have massive player turnover and FFP issues so I think everyone there has a price. BUT I can’t see the sort of profit that would make selling McGinn worthwhile being the sort of price we should pay for a 30 year old.

Like us i think it would be more managing costs, their wage bill ridiculous, £252 mill, they have to loose players - its a house of cards there.

Only one way to learn...
