Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I respectfully disagree, it takes Everton longer than any other club to complete deals, it always has.... Forest accepted a bid from Newcastle for Elanga, let`s see how long it takes to complete. IMO they will complete that before we complete Barry despite us agreeing a fee days ago.
I saw arsenal were about to sign Nørgaard 2-3 weeks ago! Went on Twitter and said Arsenal 24-48 hours away from confirming him.

I think we are laser focused on our trading and only occasionally take notice of other clubs!

Arsenal comments were like ours…why are we doing nothing, whys this taking so long, same old Arsenal…

All transfers take time.

You only notice it with Everton because you support them.
Yeah, I agree, that's why every summer half the teams around us complete some of their transfers by early-mid July and we're still solidifying interest and maybe perhaps looking at or glancing towards the possibility to maybe eventually sign someone at some point hopefully nearly almost there, and then it's deadline day and we've signed no one.

In fact, most teams have already completed a signing, while we've re-signed Mick Keggers and Gueye and kept investigating possibilities.

Our 1st friendly is next Tuesday, we`ve brought in Alcaraz who we had already last season and has a buy agreement anyway. Our 2nd friendly is a week Saturday...

Everton need to pick up the pace here although I`m not sure we get any more than 1 or 2 more in, excluding Barry, before we kick off against West Ham in the US, that leaves us on the back foot with integrating the new players in to the squad and tactical set up.

All too predictable really...

John mcginn? No thanks - complete water carrier. Looks like something out of a circus.
One of the most underrated players in the league IMO - if he was called Jean M'Ginn, people would probably think differently.

He's a little nark and has loads of quality but, he's 31 this year and unless you were talking absolute buttons (which we clearly wouldn't) then I wouldn't be bothering.

I do think the "aesthetics" are blinding some people to the actual footballing ability of McGinn. Just cos he looks like the kid from Deliverance doesn't mean he's bad.

If it makes you feel better we can give him a little eyebrow slit and a neck tattoo and refer to him as João McGinn.

Yet they pop out 2 signings like Kepa and Zubimendi from nowhere...

And then when they sign, they'll need a month or two to properly bed in, which will coincide with the first 2 months of the season.

If only transfers could be made earlier, but alas.

No it's as simple as some people can't recognise footballing ability.

Jack Harrison has caused more grown men to cry than a gambling addiction, relax if he's set to be a starter that would be very disconcerting but only seems to be considered as a squad player if we recruit him. Once again we have massive gaps to fill and Moyes will want people he feels comfortable with for fringe players

All a bit irellevant, Villa don`t want him to go, that says 2 things :-

1 - They actually don`t want to lose him
2 - You will pay above his market value to get him

I wouldn`t be paying over the odds for 30 year old and above players, no matter who they were.

Looking at the McGinn option, Yes he is 30, but I could see Moyes wanting him for his versatility and experience, he has played in almost every midfield position, so given that we may have a small squad he could cover in the; CM, AM, RW. LW, or DM.

If we could get him for less than the £20m quoted it could be a decent deal. It doesn't solve our issue of a lack of pace in the final third though
