Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We've signed Alcaraz.
We've given Branthwaite and Gana new contracts.
Barry is tentatively "agreed".

We've also appointed a completely new team of people who are responsible for your aforementioned rebuild. There's things going on, don't doubt the process.
I don't have a problem with people doubting our processes. It's probably reasonable given how bad our recruitment has been in the last decade.

There's no need for panic yet though. We have a lot to do but we still have more than a month till the first game.

And I didn’t say you did say it was impressive did I? As I said, I think just expecting people to blindly ‘trust the process’ is a bit mad after all the times the processes haven’t worked.

Nobody really thinks we’re going to go all summer without bringing anyone in, they’re just hoping to see signs of a new improved set up, and unfortunately so far those signs have been thin on the ground. Hopefully things start to get moving soon, because there really is a lot that needs doing.

i fully understand why some folks are bereft of confidence because of previous regimes never seeming to make it work, but there's just something about this time around that makes me want to allow them some time. I mean, the likes of Kenwright would have seen the pound signs for Branthwaite and then gone on to pacify us after. Moyes would have towed the PR line, too. What's happened this time has instilled belief in me. Moyes comes across as rejuvenated? Call me naive if you like.

Why oh why do we seemingly take an eternity to get signings over the line. Barry signing being a prime example. Is it me or do other clubs make it bids get fee etc agreed, couple of days later signing confirmed. Is it down to the endless haggling over fees.

All transfers take time.

You only notice it with Everton because you support them.

Everton have shown interest in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, but the Midlands club have indicated they would like to keep hold of the 30-year-old Scotland international, their captain since 2022.

From Boyland in the Athletic dealsheet this morning.

I respectfully disagree, it takes Everton longer than any other club to complete deals, it always has.... Forest accepted a bid from Newcastle for Elanga, let`s see how long it takes to complete. IMO they will complete that before we complete Barry despite us agreeing a fee days ago.

McGinn is a really good player that would improve our team significantly I think. At 30 if we got three good years out of him it's well worth it.

I know everyone wants to filter for 80 rated 21 year olds like we're playing PES but even at 30, a a really good player that would definitely fit the club and Moyes.

To be fair, that deal has been getting reported since the end of laat season.

The only minor issue with Mcatee is pace. He travels with the ball lurvely but is similar to N'diaye in that he's not that rapid, which won't help us considering Moyes predominantly wants to play on the counter.

This would be remedied by having quick full backs. But not seeing us linked with much of that profile.

Now him as our ten and also signing a quick right winger. Then your REALLY cooking
We’ve got myko to hit the cross into the stands or out of play…
