2024/25 Dwight McNeil

Eight assists in the top league, for a team with a poor goal scoring record is some going. Especially an injury riddled season.

I don’t really rate him as a top class player but it’s difficult to deny his output.

If he stays fit next season and posts the sort of numbers he’s capable of, and Beto gets double figures, and Alcaraz extrapolates his form over a season, and Ndiaye gets double figures. It could be a decent base, especially if we can add more to it.

Osman did have two feet though and a decent first touch but can see the similarity. The difference was Osman was ranked behind Arteta Pienaar Baines as a cretaive force in Moyes’ team whilst McNeil has been our main man recently which shows the drop off.

We were basically a set piece team and he took every one, to slow and one footed and not good enough to be a regular for a team that wants to kick on, he will be on the bench next season and probably sold the following summer

A goal involvement every 114 minutes in the league last season. Some great strikes too and top class set piece delivery. His left foot is magic. Really useful player to have in the squad.

I'm not too proud to say I do like him, nd have done since he first signed and zipped through the middle albeit in the friendly against Kiev in what seems like an age ago now. When he's on it he really is as per Brighton Away col years ago amd Forest Away and then the comeback at home to Palace last season. As with many many wingers down the years his inconsistent spells lead to unfair shouts he isn't good enough 😊

He’s only got more than 4 goals once in 7 years in the top flight, his left foot can’t be that good, he also doesn’t get a lot of assists from open play. Ndiaye got more goals this season than he’s ever got in a season.

Agree it’s absolutely lame that people singling him out, as far as I’m concerned he’s the least of our worries. Other areas need tending to before this fella.
