Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

A few things to unpick there, Matty.

First up, I didn't say we were going backwards, I think you are mixing me up with another poster. However, I did point out that on the pitch we are, for the moment at least, standing still.

I'm also not being negative, I literally said we should wait and see as very little has actually happened yet.

Your positivity is admirable but it isn't based on any actual evidence yet. You say we have a new off the pitch team, and that's true, but we shouldn't assume that they're fantastic just because they are new. We've been there before with Moshiri and we all saw how that turned out.

I've also been very consistent with saying I don't think we'll spend huge sums this summer, so I'm not sure where your "lashing a billion" comment comes from.

There's been some good things this summer, the new Branthwaite contract being the obvious standout, but there's also been some underwhelming things, the contract offers to Coleman, Keane, Young, Doucoure and DCL, for example. All I'm saying is that we need to see what our new owners and new executive team do before proclaiming that they are wonderful and that everything is amazing.
The only thing I would add is with what has come out regarding Moyes allegedly. insisting on Keane being kept on, is that he is having a say at the very least. Moyes is either backing himself with a significant degree of confidence, that doesn't follow his previous dithering persona or it is a case of the committee saying you can have this one David but we'll sign off on the others now. Regardless of which both Moyes and also The Commitee as you say, it will be correct to judge them on what they are able to deliver whilst thanking them for the JB and Gueye deals, not so much the others

I agree with some of what you are saying mate , but the "contract offers" to DCL , Young and Doucs got them off the books. Are we sad at that ?

If Kudus signs for Spurs from the Hammers, it's probably going to kick start the market with a bit of liquidity for the middle band of clubs as they begin trading with more urgency. A band we will sadly be part of at least for now. Arsenal getting their 1st choices in with another soon to arrive may also free up fringe players too.at other clubs if some of the Arsenal group move on.
