Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We were never going to go on a massive spending spree coming off our financial situation so I don’t get why people were expecting dozens of signings coming through the door

The club seemingly can’t win with some, if we’d have brought in say the West Ham guys, Brownhill and some other average players on frees or had gone gung ho Moshiri style and bought Grealish or any other Sky 6 rejects, they’d have got pelters for wasting money and wages. We’ve had to replace the whole transfer structure and are being a lot more sensible (letting Doucoure/DCL/Young go, making Alcaraz permanent, giving Keane/Gueye 1 year deals etc) and still they’re getting pelters
What common sense talk is this?

Please stop this nonsense it will not be tolerated.

It's not as if DCL and Young were weekly starters

I see the echo are saying...

Keane wasnt offered a contract

A deal for a centre back was lined up and terms agreed with another club.

Moyes pulled the plug and pushed for the club to extend Keanes contract

It’s ok for people to feel disappointed we haven’t added to last seasons squad yet (or even announced Gana). The players are back training.

Well this is on moyes then...he is a top manager but he make strange decisions at times. Has been back 5 minutes at the club and obviously hasn't had to watch the disastrous team with keane defending. Had a couple of decent games at the end of the season and strangely it's enough to warrant a new contract.

We need 7 or 8 new signings before the season starts so we have a squad ready for the season. We need to see a lot of movement on transfer over the next month. Game 1 is what matters not the end of the window

Pre season starts this week so it's absolutely fair to expect to see action. The longer we wait the more difficult it gets.

And who’s to say we won’t but it’s seems like a lot want signings for signing sake rather than a plan being in place, if we’re still in this position on August 14th (the day before the opening weekend) then panic

Joe Thomas reporting the club had a deal lined up for another centre back and Davey intervened to offer Keane a new deal, I never copped on he’d also worked with him before at Utd.
