Its really not hard to look up the history of a player as recent as Branthwaite. We did not buy him, then loan him out that season. He was actually here for 3 years before he even went on loan to PSV, spending a lot of time on the bench in the lead up to it.

Yes, but he also had a spell at Blackburn in that time because it was felt he wasn't ready for the 1st team. It was 3 years before he became ready for the main squad.

I just saw this and it might lend credence to the rumor I saw somewhere of Everton linked to Roma's Zeki Celek. Does that seem to make sense, that Everton takes Celek on loan as he runs out his final contract year and sends a young player back on loan for development?

There would have to be something of equal value in return like a loan for Soule or someone like that. If there’s nothing in it for us like you say our people won’t be having it.
