Suppose the issue for Patterson on a personal level is that he would be more than good enough to start for most Scots Prem Teams if he went back North but he wouldn't get the wages albeit he won't be on top dollar at us either. Best he can probably hope for is a season long loan and a bit more luck with injuries.

I don't know tbh but he came in at 19ish age wise to us iirc . JB was only on 30 grand or so on his previous contract as a renewal, so can't see it being as much as his.

So what would be the point? Particularly given that who I might want almost certainly won't be coming here because the transfer committee (or whoever is in charge of our transfers) will have other ideas, so it's utterly redundant.

I assume you mean any less true? You do understand that I'm not a club employee or a scout of any kind? I'm just an Evertonian who has watched Michael Keane stink the joint out every time he pulls on the shirt. That's why I want us to try someone else. Anyone else. OK, maybe not Wout Faes. Disagree here. Zouma in his prime, yes. But not now.

Also, apart from being awful Lindelof wouldn’t be coming here to be 4th choice.

Keane is absolutely fine as 4th choice CB and no doubt will also be taking a bit of wage cut too.

Zouma was great, but he’s almost crippled now.
