Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Why is he not realistic? Burnley need to sell for PSR, every player there knows they’re probably returning to the championship next season or in the imminent future. Everton are a step up from Burnley and have the money to get him. Burnley may say no but if he wanted out he’d be gone. It’s absolutely a realistic replacement.

Branthwaite Tarkwoski OBrien Esteve. Could play any of those 2 together without worrying that a single high ball into the channel is going to turn into a penalty, red card, and 3 points dropped.

They want 50 million for him and he's linked to Bayern and Milan. He isn't coming here to be 4th choice CB, or 3rd choice. There are already two CBs here his age that are established.

We have way too many holes in the team to be spending 50 million on a relative position of strength. We don't have a RB. We need a striker, 1-2 wingers/attackers, at least one CM and real support for LB.

Exactly, it should not be an issue, but why do we always have work permit issues then and other teams dont?

we tried to sign Argentine midfielder back in 2019, by the FA's own work permit scheme he seemed to have enough points, but we still got tunred down

I think everyone remembers Henry Onyekuru, we signed him without a work permit becasue it should have been straight forward, but he never had one granted in the UK, so we sent him on loan to Belgium and Turkey and eventually sold him to Monaco. He has never had a problem getting a work permit for any of those countries. But for some reason we couldn't get him a UK one.

Other clubs in the premier league can sign old foreign players who have never played for their country without "work permit" even being mentioned

I remember his Belgian club … not letting him go and play for his country so that he wouldn’t get one and have to stay there on loan again or so thing like that

13m bid for Jason Knight apparently (team talk). A very Moyes type player in terms of work rate. I don't think he's a premier league player if I'm honest. Similar to James Garner I suppose but not as good, albeit with a better injury record than Garner.

So he’s crapper than garner but will be more available and get more game time ?

Niceeee !

Who do you suggest we replace him with?
Tanganga at Millwall suppose to have a 1.2 million release clause,
More than likely make that back in lower wages.
He reads the game well is younger than Keane.
There will be others out there,
I really can't say I want Keane to stay , but can see the reasons behind it as backup
As we need squad numbers.
If the manger wants him it's his call.

Majority of those are buying players who have been at the club on loan (similar to Alcaraz) or in Newcastles case an 18 year old winger on a free

BBC Football are doing a 'live' transfer thread every day it seems. I had a little perusal of it late yesterday, it features a lot of comments by fans. Man Utd, Forest and Newcastle are particuarly twitchy and complaining about not getting players in early, and United have actually bought a £60 million striker. Everyone's a know it all these days, and think it'd be dead clever if all your business was done by 2nd July, and in some ways, they're right, it tends not to happen though, and most clubs haven't done probably 20% of the transfer business (incomings) they're going to do this summer.

And yet we have no idea on how fit Tarkowski can get and in what time frame. So if we don't sign a half decent RB then the liability on legs could well be a starter at Leeds.
I get where your coming from but we need to see who we bring in at right back first, the assumption Jake O'Brien starts there and Keane is effectively third choice in such instances might not be true.

We’ve signed up our prized asset on a 5 year deal, we’re closing in on a highly rated young striker and Neal Maupay and Mason Holgate are no longer Everton players. I imagine GoT will be full of harmony and positivity for on……

Ah.
