Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That's what the majority of West Ham fans says about Moyes' spells there.

And what many neutrals say about Moyes' Everton team. Results made it OK for those of us that's invested in the team, but it was often a brutal watch.

I mean it was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the football Dyche was playing..

And although we weren’t exactly Brazil 1970, we played some good stuff in his first spell.

Glad majority of these are out of contract tbh...... rating for each of them:

Abdoulaye Doucouré 7/10 - Think he has been worth the money over the years with some important goals. Very frustrating at times.
Idrissa Gueye 9/10 - Please sign
Jack Harrison 4/10 - Below average kind player. Puts a shift in though.
Asmir Begovic N/A - Did he ever play any minutes for us?
Ashley Young 4/10 - never liked the guy.... a few decent games, but generally too old and always heart in mouth times when he would come on to see the game out
Jasper Lindstrom 3/10 - didn't really get going
Orel Mangala 3/10 - same as Lindstrom
Michael Keane 6/10 - Been a good servant for the club and always remember that Spurs equaliser.
Armando Broja 1/10 - pointless signing in the end
Joao Virginia 5/10 - don't know why... never put a foot wrong when he played, but about time he moved on tbf
Neal Maupay 0.5/10 - only get's the half mark as not giving a 0. RAT
Mason Holgate 3/10 - some promising moments early on in his Everton career, but pretty poop if we are honest and will sit well in the championship or league 1
Dominic Calvert Lewin 6/10 - given just above average, with 1 great season and some important goals. Thanks for the Palace and RS goals! But about time he moves on too and was never going to be the replacement for Lukaku we so desperately need.
Harsh on Mangala as he put in some good performances prior to his injury but otherwise mostly agree. Think that side in general is mid table championship quality. Won’t miss any outside Gana if he doesn’t sign another deal.

Avg rating 4.3/10

All in all, good to have this clearout, but providing we can go and replace them with better options (min 5-6/10).

Anyone want to count the wages! 🤯

Agree with the others.

Agreed. But Moyes is closer to Dyche than any of the other managers in the league.

Don't remember that Dyche for a long time had a good standing in here. There was good spells with a lot to like.
Honestly, I think that's they're so far apart, it's too much of a stretch to make the comparison. And any lingering doubts of that should have been dispelled as soon as you could see the difference between how we play under Moyes to how we did under Dyche, with the same squad.

Also, I don't remember what you reference in the second paragraph. Bar about 4 performances, it is the worst football I have ever seen us play. Make your eyes bleed stuff. And I remember Walter Smith and his 7 bloody centre backs in a line up.

Meanwhile, contract talks have restarted with centre back Michael Keane who is officially a free agent tomorrow. Everton now want to keep Keane, 32, and are hoping to strike an agreement that would keep him at the club.

Rather than buying a replacement for Keane, the funds can be used elsewhere. Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye are set to sign contract new deals in the coming days.

The football under Moyes this season was not a slog whatsoever especially in contrast to Dyche's dour football, later in the season we had struggles scoring an additional goal to avert a draw but we had countless chances. What is your metric for aestically pleasing football to watch? We weren't Brighton or Bournemouth but are tactics were akin to forest this season and they did pretty well along with having some pretty watchable games.
