Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yes to Tete and Tagliafico. No to the others (some because I don’t want them, and some because I don’t think they’d sign for us, and Mitchell because he’s already agreed an extension
yeah even if was a 2 year deal would like see us start planning for the future at fb

Regardless of numbers we also need to increase the quality of the squad which is a tough deal given the numbers we have to bring in. I think we will see a couple of youth rotating on the bench. Do we think any of the frees mentioned strengthen the starting XI ?

McAtee has 12 months left on his contract. There is absolutely no way we should be entertaining a buy back option for City. If he did well, they would just exercise it and look to sell him on for a bigger profit.

They have an asset who will be worth nothing in 12 months, who can talk to suitors in January. Do not entertain a buy back clause.

Fair play. I did have a Quick Look on Google news and couldn’t see anything about any of them going anywhere or signing new deals but must have missed that one.

Don’t get me wrong, none of that list are worth being held to ransom over like we have in the past but all of them would improve us or add depth for a year or two so we can focus our big money on top quality attacking options because that’s what I want to see in the new stadium for sure, sat through enough dull football in the last few years just hoping to grab a draw or a lucky counter attack goal

Tete...sign the contract on 01 July confirming the verbal agreement he has with us, or he can FO.

We are not nice Everton anymore.

The time when Everton would bend over backwards to accommodate players must become a thing of the past.

90% of these jokers have no loyalty, so why should we.

Any buy back has to be at least 1.5x what we would pay for him.

That way if we bought him for 20, they bought him back for 30 and then sold him on for immediate profit at 40m then it’s not ideal for us but everyone wins and we can spend again. Additionally, it’s looking like a good relationship with city for their younger players is only going to pay dividends longer term

I just don’t think City are in a strong position on this.

He is off this summer, everyone knows that. City would be stupid not to cash in now.

With 12 months left on his contract, it’s completely up to McAtee regarding who he signs for. There’s no need for him to be pushed into a move that he doesn’t really fancy with just 12 months left on his contract.

Generally, a player would inform the club he wants to sign for whichever club, and they would proceed to do the deal.

If McAtee wants to sign for Everton, but we won’t entertain a buy back clause, what are city going to do? Lose him for nothing next summer?

I would have absolutely no time for City’s antics, they are literally dredging the northwest, and Merseyside in particular, of its talent.
