The guy was limited, lacked aggression and raw passion for goals, however I wish him well. If the Calvert-Lewins have any sense they’ll be off to Saudi to sign a 3 year deal that gives him unimaginable riches. I doubt it’s his ideal destination but with a likely limited playing career left, it’s what any smart person would do.

Another myth. The goals dried up after Xmas when Ancelotti was still the manager. Strikers can have little purple patches. Over time their real ability comes to the core. How many times have we seen him miss 1 on 1s with the keeper. Is that all related to Ancelotti aswell lol.

I understand that but he’s been first choice for EVERY manager for a reason. And yes, I know, we had poor strikers but, he was still always first choice - there’s a footballing reason for that. He’s shots here, no doubt but much better than many think

He's had next to no competition because of the appalling state of the club and was outperformed by somebody as modest as Beto.

He's just not good enough if we want serious improvement.

He's been first choice coz we've had sh!te in the wings.
You only need eyes in your head to see he's not a good finisher. He hasnt got a strikers hunger for goals. He had a great aug/dec 5 years ago in empty stadiums.
But good luck to him. I repeat what i said that he'll need to do something elswhere coz for all the comments about he hasnt a great relationship with Evertonians he's not had it that bad from our fans considering we've had very little over the past 5 years.
He's unlikey to get that somewhere else.

Yes and no. Hes spent a lot of games isolated with no support, giving him no chance. But look at the calibre of players giving him support that season- James Rodriguez, Lucas Digne, Sigurdsson etc. Pretty much any half decent striker would clean up with them giving him service.

And the set up to get the most out of him was pretty much a broken system by the time we got to January. It's almost like telling your striker to 'just stay in the box lad' has an impact on other areas of the team.
