It's 10 weeks since he got injured and he had surgery, I guess he's a few weeks away from full training..
He might have a 1 year option already built into the contract that ends after this season.
I’d be hesitant to give him another 2 at this stage. I absolutely love the guy. Great defender and leader, but he’s the reason we have to defend so deep and he pulls his right back to play narrowly to prevent gaps that he’s not quick enough to cover. That suits us for now but might not do if he slows further and depending on how we want to progress.

Leader and character we need once Coleman hangs up his boots.
…..seems like we have a number of ‘leaders’ in the group but Gueye, Coleman, Tarkowski, Young et al were all highlighted for that last season. It should always be part of any strategy to have the right types in the dressing room.
I think Coleman is also a little unique in a series of top managers recognising his insight and seeking his counsel for opinion. Hugely respected within the game, it’ll be interesting what his ambitions are in the next few years, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on ROI managerial radar.
