New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I just wish we’d redeveloped Goodison but not changed it at all so everything was exactly the same but obviously not the same because it was twice the size and with ten times the corporate offering but literally exactly the same with no changes at all to the original architecture apart from all the changes we had to make to do what I’m talking about does nobody feel like that?

Like Ibrox then

Tbh, all that really tells us is that Anfield isnt eligible for the Euros (on pitch size). If it was, would BMD have been chosen ahead of the larger Anfield, with more boxes and corporate etc? I'm not so sure.

I thought the same way, however they could have easily had the first few rows of the new AR stand removable to allow for a bigger pitch.

Perhaps they didn't see it being a slam dunk getting awarded as a host venue and it was an opportunist way to save face by doing nothing?

I would guess that the Loge seating and Tunnel Club areas could eat into the extra hospitality. Bear in mind it's not like it's going to be England playing there, so it's possible a moderate sprinkling of hospitality with a few higher value areas is an easier sell?

would of took longer than it has to build Bmd

As much as a few people would like 60/70k stadiums, I think football over the next decade or two is going to change massively, I can see the league getting reduced gradually, to around 16, the league cup vanishing and teams setting up their own streaming service, most games will be aimed at tourists to feel the experience of the premier league, ticket prices will be huge

And how would that have been paid for when club almost went bankrupt with this one? Moshiri had to purchase here, there and everywhere and club paid very high interest rates. Would you have been happy to sell Branthwaite last summer?
For a 65,000 stadium I'd sell any of the players

Anfield holds 5 or 6 concerts every summer at exactly the time an international football competition normally takes place, it would be interesting to see what kind of money they make from them as opposed to whatever share they would get off UEFA for hosting some games. Maybe they decided the concerts were more important to them. Either way we benefit - and the city as a whole, June-July 2028 should be great for the city.
