Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Good players get relegated, they get bought, bad to average ones stay at them relegated clubs and go back up and back down again

its very easy to pick out free’s that have worked at 20mil signings that haven’t. I could find you loads of free transfers that haven’t worked.
Anyway, Brownhill would want a 3yr deal on probably 60/70k plus a signing on fee. The whole deal would be 15mil give or take. Nobody is free, if rather loan a dewsbury hall for a year, than commit 3 yrs to an very average player that probably offers us very little in that time
I think that due to the number of players that we need there will have to be a mixture of both. Free agents with experience , loans with potential , with virtually all our transfer budget going on 3 or 4 players.

We need to bring in about 10 players. Some are going to be free transfers like brownhill. Its our reality. We have been circling the PSR drain for about 3 years, we wont suddenly have hundreds of millions to spend.

Rasmus Hojlund on loan

Again maybe it's just me I am loathe to take United players on loan, or anyone of the big club players, you pay a premium for them and they are surplus to requirements for a reason. He has never impressed me anytime I have watched him, not great in the air, with his feet, isn't particularly quick and does not seem to be a natural goalscorer. The only thing I like about him is that he works hard, but that should be a requisite anyway.

There is obviously a player in there somewhere, and he puts the effort in.
Just not sure what/who can get him firing properly. He is still fairly young so it might just click at some point.

Might well turn out to be good, the only thing is I can not see any outstanding attributes he has apart from workrate. Mind you years ago I thought Harry Kane was crap when he was playing for England U 21's, a greedy, useless git, who couldn't score in a Brothel with a twenty pound note hanging out his top pocket.
( I really wanted him to pass to Ross Barkley who was in much better positions than him, but he always took the shot on, made up when he missed ! ).
Sorry I digressed !

Wrong and wrong
If he was a good player he wouldn’t have lasted 5yrs at Burnley and two relegations
And nobody is free, apparently the signing on fee is usually a years wage. So potentially 3/3.5 mil
Of course they are not free but may be a trade off between signing on fee and level of wages, the key is how much the player wants to move to the club V how desperate the club are to sign him.
