Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I can’t agree. We need to utilise joint ownership rules whilst they are there. Easy ways to get round FFP.
Is it?
From what we see from the Friedkins they like to let the people in the know stick to the football thing.
Why box ourselves in by making to much of a link with Roma?

Look at there squad now, its just as small as ours, not as if they have surpluss players to offload

You’re not boxing yourself in. It’s the total opposite. Giving yourselves options.

Liverpool are a prime example of having a goal scoring right sided attacker taking the strain off the striker.
Mbuemo should guarantee you 10 -12 goals. Ndiaye should be able to get around 10 goals as well and alcaraz I think could also get you several as well.
The improvement in attacking would get Beto from 10-12 goals to 12-15 and quality wing backs, he may well see 15-18

Honestly if we invested all our serious money in quality full backs & a rapid top end right winger/forward we would have an exciting first 11 imo. I think it’s where we would see the biggest improvement per £ in the team.

But chatting about getting strikers in is more exciting for us fans 🤷🏻‍♂️.

This really. Having one squad of 25 is the same as having two squads of 25 - you still have your fillers and stars. It’s not as if Roma have messi sat on the bench waiting to come to bramley Moore

If they had quality players, they’d play for Roma

The only benefit is twisting psr

Not sure we want to ban multi club loans and transfers now given we are part of one
No, not a ban but the way City and Chelsea hoard players, it`s just getting out of hand, they are literally in for every player.

Perhaps a limit on 1st team players registered, which there currently is, but then a limit on 1st team players contracts, i.e. player reg is 25 in the Premier League and you are only allowed 30 1st team player contracts which is basically everyone under contract above the age of 21.

You understand it doesn’t mean we are only allowed to sign players from Roma don’t you?

I get were you are coming from.
But our best attribute is our defence, its top 4 level.
I dont think Mykolenko needs replacing (yet), an attacking right back...fair enough, but if you want a rapid right winger......whos defending down the right?

Id put a limit on registered players between the ages of 16-18 & 18-21.

When i mean registered i mean owned by the club.

Im sure if that happened they would find a work around, that would be were you would have to ban multi club transfers

What I don`t get on this issue, and I`ve heard nobody mention it either.... For PSR calculations things like Infrastructure and the Womens Team amongst other things are deducted from your annual accounts to make up PSR for the year, so how come Chelsea sell their womens team and that is allowed in the calculation?

All the costs associated to the womens team all fell outside PSR.... I don`t get it, clearly very dodgy and I think UEFA have already fined them for their rule breach on these accounts.

This is it for me. There’s zero point having two attacking flyers at fullback if you’ve got slow CBs and slow CMs, it just won’t work and you get destroyed more times on transition than the benefit it gives in attack at the other end. Guardiola and Arteta both stopped doing it and put in more defensively minded CBs at fullback.

It worked in 13/14 because we had Jagielka Stones Distin at the back who were all rapid and McCarthy basically covered Coleman’s entire flank. The current team don’t have the pace unless there’s major upgrades in these positions.

I’d keep the defence as is (with the addition of a right back) and put our money into better midfielders and attackers. We’ll get much more benefit at the top end of the pitch from having decent attackers and midfielders than we will for trying to recreate Baines and Coleman. They’d have to be two generational fullbacks to get close to them and how much would they cost?
