Wildlife in your Garden

Noticed this yesterday so went to the shop and bought it some food. It kept going down my driveway and out onto the road. Was giving me severe anxiety thinking it would get killed. So I put it in a box until it was dark and released it. Wasn't there this morning so thought it must of just been hungry to be out during the day and had went back to it den. But when I came back from work it was back out so phoned the uspca and they came and lifted it. Had a cut on its head so they were going to treat it then release once sorted. My son named him Harry, so good luck Harry ✌️

You must have loads of Greenfly & Blackfly on your plants then .... they will munch through them easily enough like a armoured Tank :D

…I have a lovely pink climbing rose that I planted as a cutting from my father-in-laws garden and it took off. I’ve taken other cuttings and planted all over my garden and it’s flourished. It’s where the ladybirds seem to be congregating, I did read they are welcome because they eat the bugs attacking the plant.

Father-in-law has passed now so the rose is a nice link, I’ve even planted cuttings in both my kids gardens for the same reason. I’m not in the least greenfingered but this stunning plant is thriving.

This is a field on Hale Shore, that I saw this morning on my run.

It’s been taken out of crop rotation and has been allowed to go back to its natural state - gives the field a “ rest “.

The colours and variety of flowers / weeds is stunning.

In other local news, I’ve been watching the Mossley Hill Peregrines for a good few weeks and they successfully fledged two chicks this weekend 🦅
