Not 8 chances. For all the chances he got, he should have scored 8 goals. He scored 3.
xG is plop.

I liked him at the start, then he looked a bit poo. Improved loads under Moyes and when given more game time, scored some good goals also.

So I really hope he continues to ram my words down my throat.

I liked Dom for us, he was great, then the injuries came and its a shame the legacy he leaves. I just hope everyone can part on good terms and we look back fondly on his good times.

I hope he finds a good club, stays injury free and has a great rest of his career.

Yeah, no hard feelings from me. I actually stuck up for him for a long, long time. So much so that I got subtle threats of violence from that ForeverBlue tool for goading him when Dom was on fire under Carlo ( he posted a reply basically talking about how big and hard he was, no actual threat, but the implication was there)

We paid buttons for him, and if all our signings during that era had the same £pound for £pound return then we'd have achieved a lot more than we did. The goals have dried up though, and you just can't keep turning to a striker who has scored 17 league goals in the last 4 seasons.

By any measure his chances to goals ratio is not high. He is no Jimmy Greaves. I relize thats the main adjudicator of success or failure for a striker. But some of the comments on here are correct, even if we had Greaves or Haaland instead of him, they would not exactly be pushing for the golden boot. We do not create enough chances.
Moyes success in the last half season was largely down to Beto scoring goals from chances that our midfield are better suited to create. Beto excels at being on the CB's shoulder and running onto a through ball to finish a 1:1 siuation. Calvert-Lewin does not do that well - he (DCL)scores more with a melee in the box or a direct cross from out wide onto his melon. our 'widemen' (N'Diaye, MacNeil, O'Brien, Mykolenko. Young, etc.) have not been crossers of the ball. We do have good defense-splitting passers in MF (Garner, McNeil, Armstrong, Alcaraz, even Gueye) Which favours Beto's style over his.
So I think we can let him go now unless we plan to spend big on players to get to the byline and cross accurately ( New overlapping RB, New pacy RW, new overlapping LB).
