2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Real Madrid aren’t gonna pay what we want on what he’s done so far.
They can get a Proven CL defender for probably cheaper.
If Spurs or. Chelsea offer the fee he will be gone.
Oh of someone offers enough money he will be gone, no doubt in my mind.

The only question is " what's enough" for TSG?

I've got a horrible feeling they will take X lot less than we we ,as fans , would.

What's the consensus on here? £80-100m ?

I suspect that if someone offers between £60-70m.he will be off.

Would be disgusted if so, if we have ambition to be a big club again we should be trying to extend his contract, if he won't then do what Brighton do, rinse them. Only bids over a £100m will be looked at.

Totally agree with your post mate 100%.
My only concern is that i think it will all be down to what Branthwaite wants more than what Everton want.
Does he want to double or treble his pay or show loyalty like Seamus and Pickford did.
If he wants the former what do we do?
Scupper the deal and have a half arsed sulker in the team as happens a lot in the prem or cash in?
So difficult now the game is all about money and greed.
Truly hope he wants to be a big part of Evertons re awakening then we truly can tell the vultures to sling it unless it's 100m

Yeah Chelsea come in and I'm concerned, they feel like they are setting themselves up to be a top 4 team again (helped by Masters et al), City likewise.

Spurs with a proper manager is a gamble for a really important move for Brainthwaite, it could pay off but like yourself he'd be daft to take it.

A spanner in the works is that work from home bellend tuchel
It`ll be interesting to see if whoever goes into Spurs will have an immediate positive impact and send them back up the table. They stuck with Ange because there was a chance of winning a trophy, but their problems were either a bad injury run or just a bad manager out of his depth in the PL.
I don`t buy into the idea that an international player needs to be playing in European competitions to be up to international competition. Its most important that what ever club the players you`re selecting from are clubs the players are happy at and enjoying their football. It can be a benefit to an international manager to have one or two players without the extra burden of CL fixtures during a season when it comes to June and a World cup or the Euros come around, but I think most managers just look at the top six in the PL and CL to pick their players from.

It would be a big statement of intent by the club if we were to get Jarrad to further extend his contract with us. No doubt that would involve a sizable pay rise, but if we intend to build a team around him, he'd definitely be worth the investment.

He has to forget about england...just be the best he can be with Everton. If he then doesn't go to the world cup despite having had a strong season, then it is obvious that it will be the end of tuchel as there is no way he will win the world cup or even go far in the competition if not selecting the best players ability wise. And with the likelihood of new manager taking over, he will become a permanent fixture to the England team.

Agree. If you’ve got an England managers picking and starting Jordan Henderson and selecting Quansah and Dan Burn in front of you, I’d not worry too much. He’ll not last long

If it’s silly money or he starts properly getting his head turned, then get the max and wish him well. We could do a lot of good with £80m (and I would want £80m) of PSR space.

This is where we are, and although I detest it this is also what we’re going to have to do if we want to bridge the gap to the guys at the top

I think we never bridge the gap to the top tier if we continually sell our best players to the 2nd tier like Spurs
We're just a feeder club then and hopeful we keep picking up quality players on the cheap like Branthwaite, which is unlikely

I desperately want to keep Branthwaite, but with Dom and Keane now leaving, I make that the first team squad is now 10 players lighter than the one which ended the season.

TFG may well provide cash for incomings, but I can't begin to imagine that we have enough PSR wiggle room to being in 10 new players. That being the case, I'm beginning to think that selling Branthwaite might be the only thing we can do to give ourselves enough room to manoeuvre to get those players in.

Daunting prospect.

100mil+ for me

Left footed unit with regular high level playing experience, young and improving, calm and professional, home grown for the CL clubs.

He's more rare a player than Enzo, Maguire or Caicedo and should be treated as such
