Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Didn’t show any on the reel I watched. I know you’re great with irony, but try and actually read my comments. I’m not critiquing his talent, I’m saying the particular reel I watched wasn’t great.
Plenty of others on YouTube but then a lot are from his time in the Swiss league so won't count. Anyway it's all academic as I doubt given recent developments that we'll get him anyway.

There’s a highlight reel of a striker with a decent goals record, that doesn’t show a single goal!??? Have you got a link to this “reel” I’d like to have a look

FWIW Thierno Barry is only 22 and looks no worse than Delap and a lot were all in on that one. Don't buy into this PL experience cobblers. Likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford have proved you can bring lesser known players in and hit the ground running, key is getting em in early for a full pre season.

I'm not convinced we won't be usurped by a CL suitor, but Id deffo be banging a bid in, he looks like right animal In the box (ooer).

Possibly similar competition, but I'd also be having a look at Kubo from Sociedad for RW. Also added Brucie bonus off some nice lucrative Asian market media coverage.

Seems kind of bonkers that a DOF dictating to a manager / coach how the team should play football, or what makes a good player - but I guess that is the corporate world we live in.

Trying to imagine a suit trying to tell Ferguson, Wenger, Guardiola, Ancelotti what makes a good footballer and how to win a given match.

I can see how they might be the football representative on the board and take that fluff away from the coach - and I can see how they would be involved in choosing a manager in the first place. From then on you'd hope they work to support the manager and try and align it with long term club strategy / squad health.

How it should work

1: DOF is hired
2: DOF appoints a manager which 'fits' the club strategy e.g playing style, mentality etc
3: Manager discusses player recruitment with DOF and gives him the specifications on what he's looking for
4: DOF instructs Head scout or Head of recruitment
5: Names are presented to DOF
6: DOF narrows down the names and presents to the manager
7: Manager gives opinion
8: DOF enters into negotiations with 1st choice and beyond

And sorry just to churn this point further (sorry)

It’s utterly ridiculous to have to move your best players out of position to make up for awful squad building. Imagine having Ndiaye score 10 and then having to switch sides because ‘he can’. Same with Alcaraz, he’s shown his best production thought he middle so why would you even want to limit that by shoving them to a position that fundamentally limits them?? We have to put our best players in their best positions, nothing less.

sorry but it’s been my biggest gripe for years now that the right attacking spots have been so disgustingly neglected by management/the board

(Not having a go at you sorry, you make good points. you’re just the unfortunate poster who rattled my gripe with the club’s recent and not so recent recruitment)

I’m sounding like a proper crank now, off to bed x
Remembering Moyes's first spell, I always thought we looked at our most balanced when we had Donovan playing on the right.

It’s nice getting linked to some of these decent looking strikers but if (in all probability we are gonna be waiting till July to pull the trigger on any of them if we are interested) It leaves the door for other clubs that can spend now to come in an whip them from under us. Most teams are looking for a good striker so if you are interested you need to pull the trigger quick and get it done.
It's only been busy because of this world club thing. Soon quieten down once that starts.

There's no doubt Moshiri and Kenwright interfered, but it's easy to say "I couldn't do my job properly" when the parts you could actually do you were pretty crap at.

He wasted millions upon millions upon millions, and overseen huge contracts for players who weren't good enough.

Anyway, I've said my piece about why I'm glad we've moved away from the DoF model and I'll get back on topic as this is the transfer thread.
People who fail always blame someone else.

Is there an updated list of everybody we've been linked with available?
I'm guessing we're up to about 50 now!
Double that, probably been linked with 50 players people at the club have never even heard of.
It’s the clickbait media using footy manager filters to gather players.
