Adieu Dom. You were definitely worth the price. Got it going for a while but eventually missed way too many sitters.

I think he’s gone, his comment on the podcast the other day about being under contract at Everton meant he couldn’t talk about his future made me feel he knows he’s off.

Always find it mad that theres all these bigots in our fan base apparently but they all seem to like all the other PoC in our club.

DCL made his intentions to leave us at the first opportunity very public. He drove this wedge between the fanbase and himself. Then he wasnt good enough to paper over the cracks with his performances in games.

Lukaku was the same but he scored 20 goals a season so it was easy to forgive the nonsense he spouted. Although it did still damage his relationship with the fans. I dont think we ever truly loved lukaku because we knew he wanted to leave.
I truly loved Lukaku. Still do.

The lad had a go, put some effort into his conditioning and bulked up to play upfront on his todd, playing there for us must be the hardest job in football, to play upfront on your own with very limited support or service is a thankless task,
However he wasn’t a natural finisher and when ever push came to shove he looked like a frightened rabbit,
But he also gave us some good memories along the way, good luck to him, but time to move on.

How long before the so called experts tell us we will be in a relegation fight because Lewin left (If all confirmed) . Lewin going just like i said about Doucoure is the right call. We need to stop handing contracts out for the sake of it. How long before if Lewin stayed would he have got injured to then have people moan about us keeping him
They all had us already relegated because Beto can't control a football or whatever blatant exaggeration they were pedalling at the time. Except that got showed up big time when he blasted goals in to secure our safety.

They know who they are.

Might be best for both parties to separate. There’s always the other side of the coin. He’s been saying recently how difficult it was wearing the number 9 for the club recently as we’ve been in relegation battles. Whilst that’s obviously a stressful thing to have to do and not great for a striker to be in a poor team, the other reality is that had we been a good team he wouldn’t have had the years of being an automatic first choice striker in a PL team that he’s had. We replaced Lukaku with no one and apart from Tosun for a period in 17/18 and 18/19 he’s basically been automatic first choice upfront. Had we been even half decent at any point he wouldn’t have been and would have spent a lot longer on the bench.

There’s obviously the longevity which is why he is where he is on the PL goal scorers list for us but he’s a rung below Lukaku Rooney (first time) and Yakubu for me. He’s in there with Ferguson and Saha maybe.

1.5m and he's served us well for 9 seasons.

Pound for pound he's been one of our best signings of the past 10 years. We have spent fortunes on absolute dog muck.

He's not liked by the knuckle dragging bigots.

Whatever happens I personally wish him all the best, I hope we retain him there's a 10+ goal a season striker in there comfortably.
He's just a terrible striker. its that simple

Lukaku was saying he wanted to play with a better club at a higher level every international break
DCL just said he wasn't renewing his contract

Lukaku was playing in a team that at least were creating a lot of chances
DCL was playing Dycheball

Lukaku was a great finisher but had trampoline shins and could not hold the ball up
DCL is not a great finisher, especially when getting few chances, but can hold the ball up brilliantly

The comparison doesn't work at all

It's a shame DCL got injured early in Moyes' tenure because he would have had a fresh start and more chances, but then we wouldn't have seen Beto's rise

I literally have no idea what youre on about or even comparing here.

For starters DCL did a interview talking about leaving us to play CL football. Then was stated he was joining arsenal in the summer at the end of the interview.

Then you say its not fair to compare lukaku to DCL because the former was in a attacking set up but the later was playing dycheball.

Which i thought you were trying to imply it was unfair to compare them because DCL had less chance to show his ability. Then you go onto say but DCL isnt good at scoring goals and was really good at holding up the ball which whould mean he was better suited to dycheball rather then Martinez style of play.

So he would excel playing for dyche over martinez so you contradicted youre own point there.

Just to point out the fact that DCL doesnt get many chances but he doesn't take many chances either.

Season goals xg BCM

24/25 3 7 16
23/24 7 13 16
22/23 2 6 6

(BCM , big chances missed)

So you can argue he doesnt get many chances but the chances he does get hes more then likely to miss.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him snapped up on a free by Fulham or Brentford.

Be surprised to see him go any higher than that, but stranger things have happened.
