2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Can people on both sides forget all this nonsense off the pitch, whether he did or didn't wear a skirt, what his missus is like. Only thing we as fans should care about, is he isn't a natural striker, he missed 2 great chances at Villa Park and missed a sitter against Villa at GP. He had a brilliant chance vs Newcastle and missed that. We simply can't afford to have a player, who misses half of season through injury and misses chances that Beto would score easily. Would DCL have scored Betos goal against RS? I don't think so.

I mean I don't think it was a sitter in that home game.

But people miss strikers. Beto missed about 4 at Brentford. Strikers do miss chances.

Of course players miss chances, it's more DCLs lack of composure that's, the issue. When pressure is off he does show a lot more composure. I often mention watching him at derby in 2019 in Lower Bullens. Not once did he did, he make a decent run or try to lose VVD. Richarlison was getting annoyed with him. With Lukaku he simply had instinct to be in right area DCL doesn't. Beto misses chances, but he's a nuisance to opposition defenders. In derby at GP he nudged Konate out of way in build-up to equaliser.

I think people do forget how long he has been at us and due to the mismanagement of the club he’s basically had to lead the line for years with nobody challenging him. Hes been so unlucky with injuries. It wasn’t long ago he was linked with a 50m move to Arsenal and he was in the England squad.

Yes, he misses sitters, Newcastle prime example, think he missed one against Brentford or Palace aswell this season but on the whole he’s been a great servant to us. We bought him for buttons in today’s market and he has warranted a place in our history. I hope he stays because he does give you something different especially when he drags defenders out of postition and towards the wings. Again, not his fault the wingers have been poor and never do anything with the flick on’s.

Yes. He may only get a few goals a season but also the quality around him for years now has been awful. Imagine being a forward and expecting McNeil and Harrison and Lindstrom to float good balls in for you. I hope he stays personally.

1.5m and he's served us well for 9 seasons.

Pound for pound he's been one of our best signings of the past 10 years. We have spent fortunes on absolute dog muck.

He's not liked by the knuckle dragging bigots.

Whatever happens I personally wish him all the best, I hope we retain him there's a 10+ goal a season striker in there comfortably.
