2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I am not sure I would say Calvert-Lewin is not a good footballer!
He has planty of strong elements to his game and has been capped by England at U20,U21 and Full levels making 11 intenational appearances and scoring 4 goals.
However his weakness is he does not score a lot. Which, given that he is a striker, is a pretty key measure of success.
Add that to his injury record and I guess the question for Everton is: if he were available on a 'free transfer' would we bring him in?
If Moyes wants a big strapping forward to win headers, hold the ball up and battle against centre halves, then yes Everton would be having a look.

1.5m and he's served us well for 9 seasons.

Pound for pound he's been one of our best signings of the past 10 years. We have spent fortunes on absolute dog muck.

He's not liked by the knuckle dragging bigots.

Whatever happens I personally wish him all the best, I hope we retain him there's a 10+ goal a season striker in there comfortably.

Always find it mad that theres all these bigots in our fan base apparently but they all seem to like all the other PoC in our club.

DCL made his intentions to leave us at the first opportunity very public. He drove this wedge between the fanbase and himself. Then he wasnt good enough to paper over the cracks with his performances in games.

Lukaku was the same but he scored 20 goals a season so it was easy to forgive the nonsense he spouted. Although it did still damage his relationship with the fans. I dont think we ever truly loved lukaku because we knew he wanted to leave.

we will not sell him he is out of contract at the end of the month - he stops getting paid - he can go on a free transfer which I feel may happen he has been a bargain buy , but injuries have took their toll - good luck to him with his new club, & maybe he needs a change too.....
When do we ever sign someone that isn't a last minute thing, I'll believe it in July.

Is it bigoted to point out that this 10+ goal a season striker you are taking about has only ever got into double figures in 2 seasons in his whole career? Intrigued to know what makes him a “10+ goal a season striker”.

What are you expecting for 1.5m? The bigoted comments were clearly connected to the knuckle draggers he triggered because of the items of clothes that individual chose to wear.

Lots of shouts of bigotry without quoting the posts or naming the alleged bigoted poster. Almost as if the bigotry shouts are just virtue signalling.

You can't have it both way lads.

You can't be going "well he's a 10 goal a season striker"

Everyone else "No, he really isn't"

You "well what did you expect he only cost three buttons"

He's been the starting striker most of the years he's been here. His scoring record isn't great.

It's alright if you look at total goals scored and just ignore, how many matches, how many starts, how many seasons...

But I do see how it's just easier to label everyone who disagrees a bigot because he wore culottes once and some cavemen got upset while the rest of us were mostly just bothered watching him sky one-on-ones.

How long before the so called experts tell us we will be in a relegation fight because Lewin left (If all confirmed) . Lewin going just like i said about Doucoure is the right call. We need to stop handing contracts out for the sake of it. How long before if Lewin stayed would he have got injured to then have people moan about us keeping him

Lukaku was saying he wanted to play with a better club at a higher level every international break
DCL just said he wasn't renewing his contract

Lukaku was playing in a team that at least were creating a lot of chances
DCL was playing Dycheball

Lukaku was a great finisher but had trampoline shins and could not hold the ball up
DCL is not a great finisher, especially when getting few chances, but can hold the ball up brilliantly

The comparison doesn't work at all

It's a shame DCL got injured early in Moyes' tenure because he would have had a fresh start and more chances, but then we wouldn't have seen Beto's rise
