Tbf, I’m overjoyed that we’re no longer relying on set pieces as our main source of goals, but it defo helps to have it in your locker.

Sentiment aside, I genuinely believe we can sell ourselves to the lad. Unfortunately, the same can be said about City and Chelsea. Perhaps it will come down to how quickly we can offer him the route he desires? Give him some guarantees, the ones that exist e.g. first team opportunities (within reason). City and Chelsea can't offer that. As you said, they are farms that send to slaughter.

I’m encouraged that we’re in and competing for lads of this profile mate, we might not get this lad but a few will fall for us, even just identifying and showing intent - competing for young players City and Chelsea want is a welcome change of priority and approach for me.

I don’t know if many remember but when Moyes was leaving - we had a reputation as one of the best places to go as a young or up and coming player, to develop and be given a platform.

That for me has to be our aim of what we want to achieve again - in this market (Youth recruitment).
