We were 100% looking for a loan for demba ba.

He was supposed to be going out on loan and lukaku staying but lukaku cost Chelsea the super cup and had a failing out with Mourinho.

Which lead to ba staying and lukaku going out on loan

Not sure the video is showing much apart from good positioning, or poor defending

That's not quite the same as us not scouting him or wanting him, it's just taking an unexpected opportunity when it becomes available. I think a hell of a lot more transfers than you probably think happen like that.

Seems to be a fair few good strikers coming out of Belgium these days
