Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If the talk around Tuchel trying to influence his future is true that would be annoying. Tuchel has no place in trying to influence Branthwaite's future - he is the England manager, not our manager.
Bit of a pattern emerging with Southgate not selecting him but blowing his argument out of the water by picking Dunk yet was linked with taking over the rags at the time and now Tuchel doing his former employers a favour by trying to sell Jarrod to Chelsea.

Just stinks of big six corruption as usual with the client media pushing the narrative.

For £40m??

God forbid. Moyes always has his forwards running the channels, even if they are immobile lumps - see Scamacca and Beattie.

Can't wait to see Mitro charging down the wing like the the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

Hope it's twaddle.

the days of spending money on players who’ve been around a bit to long in this league

i don’t think we will do anymore

Think we're due another Barry, a fine Evertonian name borne by both Gareth and Horne (and probably others I can't remember).
Does Hugh Barr count? Played in the 1930s. Just a random bit of info that stuck in my head having grown up with an Everton fanatic. (He had a poster with every Irish player (both North and South) to represent Everton hanging in our room.

In only 24 games though. I’d definitely take him if the price was ok. Has certainly been prolific at a lower level before and since.
Yeah as I said that season was good, just pointing out that some people seem to talk about him as if he's a guaranteed source of goals when actually at the highest level he has only actually had one noteworthy season and even that only brought 10 non penalty goals. He's not a bad player, but it would be a big risk if you were bringing him to be your main striker expecting him to score 15 goals or whatever because he's literally never done it before at this level and has spent the last 2 years playing in a glorified legends tournament.

Anyone else worried about the quality of players we have been linked with?
Mitrovic was the latest one this morning.
Calum Wilson another.
I just thought we would be finished with this type of player, maybe just press talk.
Does the quality matter if there is no substance in the links? The Friedkins seem to operate with less chatter, Alacarez was completely unexpected to the fanbase and media. I wouldn't stress about the links currently as they are being circulated by dodgy football rumor sites

Could cope with him and Beto if we bring in a good winger or two.

It's been said a lot, but then it was also said about Moshiri at first, and Brands etc etc. In reality i'm not sure it's true. Alcaraz was kind of out of the blue (it was out of the blue that it was announced by Flamengo but then there was another week or so before it officially happened) but it sounds like we weren't actually targeting him as such and just decided to take up the offer that was presented to us so it's a slightly different scenario anyway. The appointments of Moyes, Kinnear, Hammond etc were all widely reported before happening and the reports of being interested in Delap were confirmed as correct by the club too. In Italy it's been rumoured that Gasparini was taking over at Roma for about 6 months and that now appears to be happening.
