Lol, got nothing against at all, mate.I’m not going to get into my usual huge rant about this but dvds and blu rays are a sound investment. I have about 500 at the moment just in the horror genre. Movies come and go from streaming sites, and movies are now starting to be edited by streaming companies due to modern ‘sensibilities’. I however can grab any 80s slasher I want off my shelf and watch it in all its cheesy, gory, booby glory. Physical media rules.
What about Pac-Man fever, mate?I always wanted an original space invaders machine.
Thankfully the lack of anywhere to put it always got in the way![]()
I have severalIn the nuclear war aftermath physical copies will be like gold. Whoever has a working copy of Blade Runner, Terminator and Aliens will rule the world.
A ps3 or ps4 would have done the same job for cheaper budLol, got nothing against at all, mate.
My old man has about 200-250 music DVD/Blu-rays's that he has collected over the years with band interviews, special content and live performances that you can't find on YouTube, or streaming sites, or anywhere else on the interwebs for that matter.
So, those are collectable items. His Blu-ray player broke down last year, so for a while he couldn't play them. DVD and Blu-Ray players are pretty much obsolete now, so he made it my responsibility to get him one for his crimbo pressie last year.
And I had to search high and low to find the right one for him, as in, older models don't have HDMI ports, and if you remember correctly some players are limited to playing DVD/Blu-Ray's from certain 'regions'. I had to find one that can play all regions. I had to SCOUR Gumtree for months to find a second hand one that worked, FFS.
What about Pac-Man fever, mate?
If I were filthy rich, I'd have a huge 'games room' full of old arcade games and the like. And a full size snooker table!
We used to have a pool table in our basement growing up, but we had limited space, so it was proper rubbish!
Certain angles were horrible to play, and we had to use a 'mini-cue'.
Now, that was a waste of money, because that's no way to play billiards!
Love my collection of books and always have one on the go. My Mrs bought me a kindle a few years ago but I never used it, much prefer a proper book.It just doesn`t feel like reading to me, it`s very hard to explain.
Conversely, my eldest lad has never read a book in his life, as he`s never had to, as his whole schooling has been electronic.
Just an age thing I suppose.
As in using it to play my old man's DVDs and Blu-rays?A ps3 or ps4 would have done the same job for cheaper bud
Both haha, sony championed blue ray sp the ps3 onwards were all blue ray compatible. As in using it to play my old man's DVDs and Blu-rays?

One of my dreams is to win the lottery and buy myself a house with a few old buildings on the land. I would convert one of the buildings into a social club type thing for my mates to use and fill it with a load of the old arcade machines like the rallying booths which had the pedals and steering wheel and the motorbike ones where you sit on the motorbike and race your mates…. Oh and 2 full size snooker tablesI always wanted an original space invaders machine.

One or two of my other outbuildings would be converted into storage garages for my collection of 80’s and 90’s cars….. pride of place would be an Escort Coswoth, an RS 2000 and on Opel Kaddette/vauxhall Astra GTELol... My man!
Add to that, a garage full of classic cars in mint condition, and a library, not a study, a LIBRARY full of old books.
Oh, and a theatre room with this bad boy:

Is that too much? Think I'm going a bit overboard here, lol.
