2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

I find it strange we missed our obligation so there’s nothing stopping another team entering negotiations with Flamego for £25m for example but there’s not been much of the usual story telling from ‘sources’
Even at £20m I’d be suprised if other teams weren’t interested or Flamengo weren’t prospecting elsewhere in the press.

My he’s just flown under the radar because he’s at Everton as there’s been next to no reporting on him tbf.

Athletic are reporting the purchase option runs until the end of May. We've just missed the automatic obligation that set in after 9(?) games. So technically no-one else can do anything until that expires and it leaves us free to tie up a deal.

Yeah exactly. I think even if we had triggered the automatic obligation, we'd still need to do these negotiations anyway.

The deal will be done in my opinion mate - even regardless of the manager - no one is going to turn down free money and this lad is worth more then he was when we agreed these clauses in January, even if we sold before the end of the window wed make money (which i know we wont).

Wasn't really impressed with his performances at Goodison. Didn't get many starts at home mind but his performances against Palace and Newcastle away were top class

…. I did post some weeks ago that he might be more effective away from home where we’re more likely to counter attack. His game is lots to do with transitioning but it was good to see him being a goal threat at Newcastle. Terrific cross for Beto to score against Ipswich but he might be less effective against teams who sit in.

Looks to be nearly finalised.

Fantastic bit of work by a Thelwell really. Both an obligation and an option on the deal meaning that we literally had all of the control over it.
