Yeah and almost none of them are valid in Delaps case where he has a release clause and is publically courting half the league.
Christ if we didn't properly take a run at him you'd be moaning about lack of ambition and being defeatist
I agree with this in principle but it doesn't really align with the reality of where we are right now.
Unfortunately we are still likely to be perceived as even being on a level below Brighton, Bournemouth, or Brentford right now.
Signings like Delap will bring us back into that group and once we are there we can start making ambitious noises without it sounding a bit fantastical.
I didn't read the black ball option quite like you have. But that's fine. howe is thanking his lucky stars he had CL football still and so isak is catered for. I don't believe maresca knows the names of all of his squad, so adding new faces and names seems like a lesson in punishment. and amorim is offering to leave man utd with no contract pay off.I wonder what Ruben Amorim, Eddie Howe or Enzo Maresca have publicly said about their pursuit of Liam Delap?
Anything?
I can only speculate why Moyes has gone so public, and repeatedly - it's against his MO. He very rarely does that - how many times has he spoke about a player he wants to sign? Fellaini/Baines was a last resort. I think Moyes has gone public because he fancies our chances, and if he signs, it'll reflect well on him to have convinced him to come to the black ball option.
Probably should close the thread at this post until there's confirmation either way![]()
They will continue to implode…. They need a complete rebuild of everything.the thing with united is that if they do come good, they could be on the verge of titles very quickly given their stature and money
if he’s the striker that helps deliver that then he’s a legend forever
in all likelihood they keep imploding, hopefully.
Yeah, this sums it up.Any player who wants to go to man utd would be the wrong type of signing.
Agreed. Especially with his Man City background as well he should know better than anyoneYeah, this sums it up.
I'll be able to stomach him going there more easily, and consider it a bullet dodged.
65m on Cunha is a sign they are not making smart recruitment decisions any time soon. They will continue to implode…. They need a complete rebuild of everything.
They will be away from the title and even European places for the next decade.
Delap and cunha would not change this.
Especially as he appears to be a headbanger. What could possibly go wrong with having that kind of temperament in that kind of environment...65m on Cunha is a sign they are not making smart recruitment decisions any time soon.
Honestly I was about to type that.Christ,we’re not signing Rasmus are we.
It's his career, but that would be mental for me headed there. Sign for us and he can put in a double the fee release clause then if he's that good will have better options than Newcastle, Chelsea or utd. Sign for one of those teams and he's probably stuck there with no guarantee they reach the top tierYeah, this sums it up.
I'll be able to stomach him going there more easily, and consider it a bullet dodged.
Nonsense.
And the release clause makes no odds at all.
You say half the league - only one manager - Moyes has made public comment.
The bit you didn't bold is the significant bit - you don't need to reaffirm perception you want to move away from.
Especially as he appears to be a headbanger. What could possibly go wrong with having that kind of temperament in that kind of environment...
If he goes to Man U he’s a fool imo.
A well paid fool, mind.
