Will keep my thoughts on Merseyside Police to myself until we have more information. But I was driving down Leeds St earlier parallel to thousands of fans. Surely there needs to be more done with road closures in town for big events like this.

Absolutely.

Where the incident has happened, you can easily divert traffic via Exchange St and back down Tithebarn st too.

If it’s deliberate, I hope they battered him to death.

The videos suggest deliberate.

Sickening

Whilst I agree with your point, the uncomfortable truth is that there is only so much you can do to prevent such attacks, if this does turn out to be one.

If a person wants to commit such a crime, they will - 'act of madman'. They could do it at the end of a match, at the end of a concert... a busy Saturday in town.

By the way, as I said earlier, let's wait and see before saying it is an attack. This is just a wider discussion about preventive measures.

….girl on Sky said they’d only just opened the road back up.

PM and Home Secretary informed, clearly a major incident, we can only hope it’s not as bad as it looks.

if the car was guna stop it would of earlier into it

it’s a terrorist attack absolutely is

It may well be, but I wouldn't discount a medical episode just yet.

This happened near me about 6 months ago - turned out it was an old guy having a heart attack

Saying it terror related before we know what happened just emboldens the idiots - they are all ready at it in my feeds.

Edit - just seen another vid and it looks like an angry white guy who couldn’t get past. He was beeping his horn st people to get it the way - that’s how it looked anyway

Not seen the video, not sure I want to. Just hope that no-one has been killed or suffered life-threatening injuries. The trauma from being caught up in something like that must be horrific, even more so if it's a deliberate attack at what's supposed to be a celebratory event. Sickening.

It’s getting impossible. Xmas markets in Birmingham had the ram barriers all over the place, I was shocked when I first saw it. But to try and lock down a whole city centre with hundreds of thousands of pedestrians? No idea how they combat this.

Hope it’s not as bad as it sounds. 🙏

I live in Broadgreen and me and my Mrs were commenting on the sirens - they’d been going on for some time prior to us knowing anything about it.

Absolutely sickening….I know there are injuries but I hope everyone is relatively ok. We come together as a city when something terrible happens
