Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’d be taking players who’ve played in England anytime over a player abroad. A million times easier to judge how they cope with English football.

It has to be a consideration most definitely, but they also have to consider the premium being demanded for this experience and whether that is worth it.

Also the bigger the fee, the less the chance of any return on the resale value.

A good strategy to me will incorporate acquisitions at varying fees, and from different markets. I'd give an obvious weight to buying younger (< 25) rather than older players too.

It's impossible to buy 5 players at an average £15m each and expect to improve significantly. That's my opinion. But we do have to unearth a few unknowns at that type of price level this summer to go with any more expensive signings. If we spend £30m on Delap I'd imagine that will be our most expensive signing of the summer.

They have to find a couple of hidden gems. Playing it safe is too conservative a strategy and it's probably also unaffordable.

The budget is unknown but with constraints it's unlikely to be very large and won't be big by contemporary standards. They actually have to go out and produce some evidence of effective scouting within a global market this summer, in part if not in whole.

It's imperative we utilise loans and frees too, and far more effectively than previous.

reckon stuff might break tonight re released players?
Broja, Keane, Lindstrom must be certain to leave.
DCL won't accept a lower salary. Mangala to leave due to his injury, Coleman bound to be on a coaching role.
Moyes might fancy Harrison to stay.
Alcarez and Gueye surely David

My guess

Theyre nothing alike so that wouldnt be ideal to have him as a replacement.

The one I'd have is Lamine Camara as his successor, should have got him last summer before his Monaco move
in all honesty I’ve never watched him just saw that clip and saw him looking dynamic and breaking up play

i essentially want us to sign a dm/cm from ligue one on the cheap that can do everything gana does (probably not as effectively but not many can) but with a bit more progressiveness on the ball

so if its not this lad then someone like what i described

i worry about us if gana either goes, gets injured or has a massive drop off next year
