Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We're not spending 33 mil on a Centre Half when we've got Tarki, Branthwaite and O'Brien.

If we bring in a Centre half it will be low fee youngster who Moyes will work on.
Guesswork but I’d say more likely to be a cheap experienced one to replace Keane if he goes. O’Brien and branthwaite are potentially long term starters and the likes of tamen and Thomas seem quite highly rated so they may focus more on short term cover than long term prospects.

Need a starting DM to play alongside Gana not replacing him.
Comes under 'and the rest' - Garner can be great on his day. Tim as well. Armstrong could get a shot, still don't know about Mangala either.

In an ideal world yeah, but got to be realistic with what we can do in one window!

Current state of play, we have just 12 contracted players as we head into 2025/26 at the new stadium with just 6 of them classed as 'Home Grown'. A Premier League squad can have a maximum of 25 players, with a maximum of 17 of those players not being classified as "Home Grown".

We have 7 players that are confirmed to be leaving, 2 of which featured prominently this year with 5 players reaching the end of their loan, 3 featuring prominently this season.

3 players could join the list of those leaving or could accept new deals. While we didn't trigger the clause on Alcaraz, it's possible we may still make a bid, unknown on the status of the rest.

First-Team Players for 2025/26 Season: 12
Pickford (HG)
Branthwaite (HG)
Tarkowski (HG)
Mykolenko
Patterson
O'Brien
Garner (HG)
Iroegbunam (HG)
McNeil (HG)
Ndiaye
Beto
Chermiti

Potential Youth Call Ups:
Armstrong (HG)

Leaving (End of Contract/Sales): 7
Young (HG)
Virginia (HG)
Begovic (HG)
Doucoure
Holgate (HG)
Maupay
Crellin (HG)

Leaving (End of Loan): 5
Alcaraz
Harrison (HG)
Lindstrom
Broja (HG)
Mangala

Re-Signed: 1
Coleman (TBC Player or Coach)

Unknown:
Gueye
Keane
DCL

Taking into account all of this...it is going to be a MAMMOTH job to fill out a squad for next season. Gana re-signing is going to be crucial, perhaps Keane & DCL too. We might call up Armstrong, nothing is indicating we'll call up any of the other youth team players.

For me, we need (in priority order):

Reserve GK (Free/Loan/Prospect)
Starting RB
Starting DM (If Gueye Leaves)
Starting AM
Starting/Competing LB
Starting/Competing ST
Backup Keeper (Free/Promote from Youth)

And the rest...

Anyone else crapping one?
Nope

I can see Gana, Keane and DCL being offered new deals. Whether they sign is another thing.

Deals should be equivalent to the value they’re offering. How often they’ve played, fitness, output, age etc. If we’ve actually started taking an analytical approach to it it would be a step in the right direction. ‘Here’s what the club have calculated you’re worth if you were to stay. If you don’t like it don’t sign’

That's the spirit.

All them players out of contract or end of loan is the best thing to happen to us in years.
Clear the decks , time for a reset .
We brought 7 or 8 in last year I've no doubt we will do similar only this time we won't be scraping the barrel , we will have real money to spend for better players.

It can and will be done .

Here's hoping mate. Dunno how much we'll have to spend but if we can add some top quality players and some really good loans then we'll be in a good place! UTFT
