By my count we have 11 out of contract players and 4 loanees returning to their clubs, I've probably missed some too. If we only sign 3 permanents and 3 loans we're going to have to renew 9 contracts just to have a squad the same size as we have now. There will be unpleasant renewals, I'm personally dreading the inevitable renewal of Michael Keane's contract, but I can't see their being nine.

Renewals, and probably some youngsters being promoted to get extra bodies in there. Armstrong will probably play a role. I just cant see us throwing much cash around, even if we need a lot of players. We might have new owners, but im sure they dont want to risk getting us back into the financial fair play bog again, and might not want to give too much money to Moyes, whos not going to stick around for a decade this time.

This is a genuine worry, and the real downside of changing manager mid-season. Obviously Dyche had to go but there are consequences to replacing a manager with minimal planning.

Unless they've planned for him to continue as the DOF...cuz let's be honest, he's been one of the few who seems to know the Everton score.
